Fast Rising Rapper Monemsis Born Monanu Emeka in a recent interview he granted Journalist on the release of his soon to be released debut Single titled “Iheanacho” has advised Nigerian youths to please come together and help contribute their own little Quarter to help turn around the sad state of the Nigerian economy.
When asked on why he decided to name his Movement “Naira Gang” considering how the Naira has currently completely lost its value Monemsis who is a passionate believer that the value of the Nigerian Naira will be restored one day had this to say;
“Its high time we Nigerians stop looking down on ourselves we cannot keep on doing this and then we expect outsiders to take us seriously take for example the term “Aba Made” is equivalent to “Fake” or “Low Quality” this is the general opinion shared generally by we nigerians forgetting that its not all goods that we produce that is low standard, now tell me how a tourist will ever take such products seriously, we all forget to realise that Perception matters alot, but also some of the producers of some of these goods should be more innovative, stop imitations and also try and make sure they go for top quality materials while producing their goods.
Another good example is Innoson Motors who make made in Nigeria cars most people dont even know it exists or they just choose not care, But the truth is we Nigerians should really learn to be truly Patriotic and support each other, Most people who can actually afford these cars would rather prefer to dash Japan the money and buy toyota Jeeps. Well Everybody has different taste so not everybody is going to like the same thing But we only have one county and if anything happens to it we all would have to settle for been a second class citizen in another country for the rest of our lives.
I really think our leaders should really do more about this and lead by example i.e would be our lawmakers who allegedly bought toyotas instead of Innosons but i did recently hear that all the shoes that the Nigerian Army purchased for our gallant soldiers where all made in Aba so this is really a good sign.
We Nigerian youths are very creative and innovative so its high time we come together and put this Entrepreneurial talents into good use and produce goods and services that are of world class standard and i strongly believe that sooner or later the value of our Naira will be restored”
