Meet Omoyele Sowore, The Founder Of Sahara Reporters

Omoyele-sowore

Family Background Born into a polygamous family with sixteen siblings, Omoyele Sowore developed his passion for the media in the days of military rule in Nigeria. According to him, the vibrant criticism from the media then towards the ruling government gave him a sense of direction of what he wanted to do.

So, when he left Nigeria in 1999 for the United States for proper treatment after the cultists’ attacks, he knew he would not stop serving his fatherland. In 2006, he founded Sahara Reporters in a small room in Manhattan.

It was not until December 2006 that Sahara Reporters became an international household name as the first news source to identify and publish the photo of  Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. Since then, it has published over 5,000 stories and has a massive followership within and without Nigeria.

Though Sowore practices his citizen journalism in New York where he is protected by the First Amendment Rights, he receives several news tips and beats from even reporters in Nigeria whose editors are afraid to use their controversial stories. He “resumes” work by midnight, New York time, when many Nigerians are already up and about.

How it all began

The fiery activism of this man in his 40s got national prominence between 1992-1994, when he led the Students Union Government of the University of Lagos. When his mates chose the glittering broad way of life, he combined his Geography lectures with a firm determination to put a stop to cultism in the university.

As is expected in every life situation, his adversaries could not bare his torture anymore and chose to put a stop to him. It is alleged that on a fateful day in 1994, some of these cultists came in their number to beat, torture, strip Unclad and inject him with lead.

The threats

Those whose ox have been gored have not failed to threaten Omoyele and his team. He explains that it is for this reason he sometime does not publish evidence or names of the reporter so that the well-meaning person will not be traced and unjustly punished.

To be able to thrive with its increasing growth rate, Sahara Reporters is supported by grants donated by the Ford Foundation and the Omidyar Foundation. Contrary to what many might think, the name “Sahara” was given based on a passionate drive to kick up a storm in Nigeria, not based on a geographical location.

On the side, when he is not revealing some hard truths about the Nigerian government, Omoyele is teaching in School of Visual Arts, New York or giving a talk somewhere.

Controversies

However, that story, as with many others concerning Omoyele, has been met with a lot of controversies. Many claim that Omoyele was actually a brutal cultist fighting other rival cults with his SUG sit-tight presidency. It is said that it was when these rival cultists felt they had enough of his troubles that they attacked him while he was attacking another cultist. Those who validate this report opine that lead cannot be harmful except given in large quantities. Hence, the cultists could not have injected him with lead if they really meant to do him harm.

Still on the controversies, many have also said that Omoyele’s Sahara Reporters is a strong media tool used by Omoyele to extort money from politicians. They also say that he is in the pockets of some political officers who have given him cash or kind to ridicule their rivals on his online platform.

One of the most popular controversies is that it was alleged that Omoyele received a huge gift from sitting President Mohammed Buhari to ridicule former President Goodluck Jonathan during this year’s election campaigns.

Kidnappers Arrested In Military Uniform Say They Bought It For N1,500

kidnappers2

The men of the State Security Service (SSS), Kogi State command on Wednesday, said it had in the last few weeks, arrested at least 10 suspected kidnappers terrorising the state.

The Nigerian Tribune learnt, four operating in full military combat uniforms were paraded for arraignment

The state director of the command, Mr Joseph Okpo,  said the command last week, arrested four of the six-man gang that had been operating on Abuja-Lokoja highway.
According to him, the people specialised in robbery and kidnapping on the major roads.

He said the people had confessed being involved in some operations on Maraba-Jos Road, Malufashi on Zaria-Kaduna and Jaji-Zaria Road, in full military uniform. The leader of the gang, Mumuni Adamu, said they got the military uniforms from a commercial motorcyclist, popularly called Okada, at the rate of N1,500  per pair.

FRSC ‘Can No Longer’ Fine Mmotorists, Court Rules

frsc21

A federal high court in Lagos has declared void powers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to impose fines on motorists for traffic offences.

John Tsoho, a judge, held that the commission could not turn itself into a court of law by punishing those who commit traffic offences.

Tope Alabi, a lawyer, had approached the court to declare that only a court of competent jurisdiction could pronounce a person guilty under section 10 (4) and 28 (2) of the FRSC Act 2007.

Other defendant in the suit was the attorney-general of the federation.

The judge also awarded N1million damages in favour of the plaintiff because officials of the FRSC had confiscated his vehicle and driver’s licence.

Tosho said while FRSC was statutorily empowered to arrest and fine traffic offenders, a closer look at the definition of the word “fine” meant a pecuniary criminal punishment or civil penalty payable to the public treasury.

“In the instant case, however, the involvement of the element of arrest takes the imposition of fine by the FRSC to the realm of criminal punishment,” he said.

“From these definitions, it is obvious that the act of sentencing is a judicial action or exercise, and imposition of fine connotes conviction for an alleged offence.

“It is, thus, very clear that the FRSC, not being a court of law, cannot impose fine, especially as it has no powers to conduct trial.

“Hence, the exercise of the statutory powers given to the defendant under the Act as pertain to imposition of fine is clearly a usurpation of judicial powers exclusively vested in the courts.

“In the circumstances, I endorse the plaintiff’s submission that by virtue of section 1(3) of the constitution, the power to impose fine conferred on FRSC by the enabling act is null and void to the extent of its inconsistency with the constitution.”

Tsoho held that the FRSC resorted to “legislative absurdity” when it imposed a fine of 3,000 on the plaintiff, rather than the N2,000 statutorily prescribed.

“FRSC’s function should not go beyond issuance of mere notices of offence,” he ruled.

“It is a cardinal principle of natural justice that no person can be condemned without being heard.

“It is in observance of this that a person alleged to have committed an offence has to respond to such allegation before a court of law during trial.”

According to the judge, the plaintiff was issued a notice of offence Sheet on April 4, 2013, but FRSC did not take him to court for five months before the plaintiff filed his suit on September 9, 2013.

“The vital question to ask is how long would it take the FRSC to reasonably commence prosecution of a traffic offence?” he asked.

“The plaintiff was not under obligation to wait indefinitely for redress due to FRSC’s inaction or laxity.

“I hold the view that the confiscation of the vehicle was unnecessary in the first place, though the FRSC spiritedly sought to justify it.”

The judge then granted 11 of the 14 reliefs sought by the plaintiff, awarding N1million in his favour instead of the N10 million prayed for.

MEND Responds To Buratai’s Statement On The Niger Delta

militant1

The attention of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) has been drawn to a statement made in Port Harcourt on Monday July 25, 2016 by the Chief of Army Staff Lt. General Tukur Buratai to the effect that the Nigerian military authorities will resort to the use of force if dialogue to resolve the current Niger Delta crisis fails.

MEND hereby makes it clear that General Buratai’s statement is insensitive, provocative, unprofessional and prejudicial to the fair outcome of the ongoing preliminary talks regarding the Niger Delta crisis between representatives of oil companies and security agencies, on the one hand; and the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), on the other hand.

We therefore warn the Chief of Army Staff to guard his utterances, refrain from making political and inflammatory statements and stick to his primary responsibility.

We use this medium to appeal to the good people of the Niger Delta to remain patient with the Administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and keep hope alive as MEND and the Aaron Team 2 Dialogue, Peace and Development Initiative led by Mr. Odein Ajumogobia, and HRH King Alfred Papapreye Diette-Spiff are working assiduously to secure sustainable concessions for the region from the Government.

While MEND have already kick-started the dialogue process with the ongoing preliminary talks, the Aaron Team, made up of distinguished and accomplished personalities from the region, are waiting on the sidelines to conclude the dialogue process.

Long live the Niger Delta…Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!

Army Threatens To Use Force If Militants Reject Dialogue

niger-delta-militants-2-1-604x270.jpg.pagespeed.ce.qSQ6CHAQPE

Chief of Army Staff Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai yesterday warned that the Army will use force if the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) and other militant groups reject dialogue with the Federal Government.
Besides, Gen. Buratai said, the army will support civil authority during the elections in eight local governments, should there be a request for help.

According to the Nation, Gen. Buratai, who was represented by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division, Enugu, Maj.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, spoke yesterday after inaugurating the two-storey administrative headquarters complex, Olympic-size swimming pool and two other projects at the 2 Brigade of the Army, in Rivers State.
The army chief said:

“Government is still committed to dialogue (with Niger Delta militants). Whereby this cannot go on, then there could be resort to other means. The non-kinetic means has always been the source first, before government can recourse to the kinetic means (dropping bombs and using bullets, using lethal force/full military action/war or killing people).
“So, there is the need for the Niger Delta Avengers to see reason and dialogue with government.
“Each time the army goes out to work, it works in support of the civil authority and we will continue to do that. If there is a need for the military authority to support the civil authority (during Rivers July 30 rerun), based on need from the police, we will continue to do just that.”

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a landlord, Gbade Metibemu, for allegedly stabbing his tenant of four

months, Bright Abraham, to death on Apollo Street in the Makoko area of the state.
PUNCH Metro learnt that Metibemu attacked the 35-year-old Abia State indigene with a knife for refusing to vacate his plank apartment after a week-long disagreement.
Our correspondent was told that the suspect had warned the victim to stop soiling the slum with the faeces of his baby.
When the warning did not yield any result, the suspect was reported to have threatened to kill Abraham.

Last Thursday, around 10pm, the father of four was preparing to sleep when an argument ensued between him and the landlord which degenerated into a fight.

Metibemu was alleged to have got a knife with which he stabbed Abraham in the chest.
He allegedly rushed to the Adekunle Police Station to report that he had been injured by his tenant.
He was, however, detained when news filtered in that Abraham had died at the hospital where he was taken to for treatment.
A resident, who identified himself as Christian Nwankwo, said Metibemu always fought his tenants.
He said, “Abraham packed into the house four months ago. He was well-behaved and good-mannered and those were attributes that endeared him to us. His room is beside the landlord’s.
“However, about a week ago, the landlord started complaining that he should stop spreading children clothes on the washing line. He also complained about the faeces of his baby, which he said was soiling the house.“He started threatening him to leave or he would kill him. We thought it was a joke.”
Another resident, Ndubuisi Nkegba, said the victim had excused himself from a chat to go to bed that Thursday when he was stabbed.
“Just about 10 minutes after he left us to go to bed, we heard a noise. We rushed there and saw that he had been stabbed in the chest three times by the landlord. He was in a pool of blood. We rushed him to the Federal Medical Centre, Yaba, where he was confirmed dead.”
The landlord was said to have gone to the Adekunle Police Station with a friend, identified as Femi, to report the incident.
“He told the police that his tenant stabbed him. The police were taking his statement when some friends of the deceased, who were returning from the hospital, met him at the station. They told the police that the tenant was dead. The landlord’s friend, Femi, fled, but the landlord was detained.”
It was learnt that the wife and children of the victim had been taken to their family house.
Our correspondent was told that an angry mob demolished the suspect’s apartment and destroyed some of his property.

Brave Man Wrestles Armed Robbers After They Beat His Wife To Coma(Photo)

fought off Robber

A brave man foiled a robbery on his Ajegunle, Lagos home .
Segun Viho, according to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), fought with the three suspected robbers when they beat up his wife. One of the suspects, Wasiu Bashir, 22, was arrested through Viho’s bravery. Others fled.
A statement yesterday by RRS said the suspects waylaid Viho at the car park, snatched his documents, phones and N15,000 at gun point before leading him to his flat.
Two of them was said to have threatened to kill Viho in the presence of his children and wife on entering his flat last Tuesday.
Bashir smashed Viho’s head with gun butt and beat up the wife when the family resisted them.

RRS quoted Viho as saying:

“When he started beating my wife, I summoned courage to engage him. As soon as we started fighting, his colleague took to his heels.
He too tried to run but I held him and I called out to neighbours, seized his gun and just in the nick of time, RRS officers on patrol arrived and they arrested him”.

Bashir reportedly told RRS:

“We know he goes to work early in his car and we decided to ambush him. We were three, Michael and I followed him into his flat to collect more money while Joseph was monitoring the situation outside. The three of us met at a point near boundary in Ajegunle. That is where we plan and set out for our operations. We operate early in the morning and late evening.”

Last Monday, RRS also arrested another armed suspected robber in Ikotun.Tunde Adedeji, 23 and his 10-man robbery gang invaded Muslim and Omotayo Streets in Ikotun, robbing the occupants of three buildings.
Two of the three buildings are on Muslim Street; the third is on Omotayo Street.
Over 25 victims relived their ordeal to the police when they stormed RRS Headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja, on learning about the arrest of one of the suspects. Many of them were macheted.

The victims, who came to Alausa in three commercial buses, were invited one after the other to identify the suspect and their belongings from the 18 mobile phones, trinkets and assorted jewellery, recovered from his back-pack.
Adedeji reportedly told RRS:

“Around midnight, Sadiq, Sule, Ijoba, myself and six others whose names I don’t know met and discussed about the robbery.
I was invited for the operation by Sadiq. We met at Ikotun Egbe. We discussed the plan and at around 2am, we converged on Ikotun Roundabout.
“The arms we used for the operation were cutlasses, wood and sticks. None of us had a gun. We used legs to break doors and took phones, jewellery, laptops from our victims. All the recovered items from me were from the victims. Sule and I were coming from the operation around 4am when a local security man intercepted us.“We ran away, but, I was later arrested by RRS officials on patrol.”

Police spokesperson Dolapo Badmos, a Superintendent (SP), said Bashir has been transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), office in Ikeja.

Why I Starved, Chained My Son – Pastor

KOREDE-AND-FATHER.fw_
Francis Taiwo, a Celestial Church of Christ pastor who starved and kept his nine-year-old son in chains for months,

has been arrested.
The 40-year-old pastor was apprehended by the police from the Onipanu division on Sunday at his church – CCC, Key of Joy Parish – in Ajibawo, Atan, in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Korede was, however, rescued on Friday during a joint operation by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the police, after receiving a tip-off from residents of the area.
Korede’s stepmother, Kehinde, had also been arrested for allegedly aiding the cruelty meted out to the boy.
Korede, who said he aspired to be a doctor, had blamed his father for his stealing habit.
“It is true that I stole a pot of soup and a bowl of eba in our house. I also stole in the neighbourhood. My father’s inability to give money to my stepmother for the upkeep of the family caused it. When I was chained, my father and stepmother fed me twice a day. Some days, I was not given any food. I want to go back to school because I want to be a doctor in the future. I do not want to go back to my father’s house,” Korede had said.
Francis, a father of five who hails from Benin Republic, confessed to the act in his statement to the police, adding that Korede’s mother was late.
He said,
“I was ordained a pastor in the CCC in 2012. I had divorced two wives, including Korede’s mother, Maria; she is late now. She had four children for me – two boys and two girls – before she divorced me in 2007 after she gave birth to Korede. I chained Korede because he is possessed. An evil spirit makes him to steal. He needs deliverance. His siblings are not living with me.”
A resident, who identified himself only as Elijah, said Francis had been warned on several occasions against unleashing violence on the victim.
He said, “His father has been chaining him for the past six months. He would chain him for hours and release him. His grouse is that Korede steals and runs away from home and he thinks a spirit is controlling the child. He once took him to a river in chains for deliverance.”
The Ogun State police spokesperson, SP Muyiwa Adejobi, said the case had been transferred to the child labour unit of the command for investigation.
“The case has been transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the command for necessary investigation and actions as directed by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of zone 2, AIG Abdulmajid Ali,” he said.

9-year-old Boy Chained In Cele Church By His Father Speaks, Tells His story!

chained-0

The 9-year-old boy chained around his neck and rescued by the NSCDC from the premises of the Celestial Church of Christ, Key of Joy Parish, Ajibawo in Ogun State, has finally spoken up and says he doesn’t want to go back to his father.

Recall that few days back, photos of the boy chained around the neck with a huge padlock and held captive in the premises of the Celestial Church surfaced on social media.

Now, reports has confirmed that the shocking act of child abuse was carried out by his father, Francis Taiwo, who is also a pastor of the church.

Safe in the custody of the state yesterday, the boy finally spoke up and narrated how he was maltreated by his own people.

“I was not fed regularly when I was chained. My father and my step-mother only fed me twice a day. Some days, I was not given any food. I want to go back to school because I want to be a doctor in the future. I also do not want to go back to my father’s house,” the boy said.

Korede was reportedly chained inside a room in the church since January of this year, and his rescue was made possible by neighbours who tipped off the security agents. And now, his father is on the run.

Punch adds that the boy chained was accused of stealing and running away, and so to ‘cast out’ the ‘spirit’, his father chained him and left him in a room in the church premises. His father also reportedly took the boy chained to a river to bath him this May.

“It is true that I stole a pot of soup and bowl of eba in our house,” the boy told Punch. “I also stole in the neighbourhood. My father’s inability to give money to my step-mother for the upkeep of the family caused it. But I promised not to go back to my old ways.’’

And he adds that his parents stopped him from attending his Onse Community Primary School after he tried to take food from a vendor in the school. “I still want to return to school. I want to be a medical doctor,” he said.

Meanwhile, the victim’s stepmother, who has been arrested by the police, told the press that she had warned her Celestial Church pastor husband to desist from such punishments.

“I usually warned him concerning the way he chained Korede. I had reported him to his twin brother, Kehinde, who lives in Ota, and I also reported to a friend of his,” she said.

“When the two talked to him, he would relax a bit, but as soon as they left, he would return to his old ways,” she continued, adding, “we got married three years ago but I learnt that he was once married to a woman from Benin, Edo State.

The woman, I was told, bore him four children- two boys and two girls. I only saw the woman in a picture, I have never met her physically. She was said to have left nine years ago, shortly after she gave birth to Korede.”

“All I have been doing is to beg him to stop stealing, as such act does not portray the family in good light.”

Confirming the update on the Celestial Church of Christ case, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Muyiwa Adejobi, said the police are currently searching for Korede’s father. He also added that the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command, Abdulmajid Ali, had taken over the case.

He said:

“The police operatives of the command attached to the Onipanu Division rescued Korede from where he was chained on the neck to a heavy log of wood in a room by his biological father, Pastor Francis Taiwo, for more than a month.

“The stepmother of Korede, Kehinde, who has been arrested by the police, revealed that Korede’s father’s cruel act was connected with the habit of stealing exhibited by Korede.

“The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of zone 2 Command, Lagos, who is presently on the ground in Ogun State, Abdulmajid Ali, has condemned the pastor’s criminal and inhuman act and directed that the matter be properly handled, while the fleeing pastor be apprehended without delay.

“The AIG has ordered that the young boy be given proper medical attention. He will soon be handed over to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in Ogun State for necessary action.”

Why IBB Removed Me From Power – Buhari Reveals 31-year-old Secret

buhari & IBB

President Muhammadu Buhari has said he was removed from office 31 years ago because he was planning to purge the military hierarchy of corruption.
Buhari, who has not spared the military even in his ongoing anti-corruption war, said senior military leaders, led by a former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida, and General Aliyu Gusau, removed him in August 1985, to save themselves from his wrath.

In an exclusive interview published in the current edition of The Interview magazine, Buhari challenged Babangida and Gusau, to tell the truth on why they carried out the coup against him.

“I learnt,” he said, “that Aliyu Gusau, who was in charge of intelligence, took import licence from the Ministry of Commerce which was in charge of supplies and gave it to Alhaji Mai Deribe.

“It was worth N100,000, a lot of money at that time. I confronted them and took the case to the Army Council in a memo…I wanted Gusau punished.”

In a statement on http://ift.tt/2a5FJC0, the Managing Director/Editor-in-chief of The Interview, Azu Ishiekwene, said, “This is one edition that won’t let sleeping dogs lie.”

Babangida had told The Interview in its December edition that there was nothing in the memo which Buhari said he submitted to the Army Council.

“Don’t forget that I was one of Buhari’s closest aides. I was the chief of army staff. So, I had an important position, an important role to play in that administration. I don’t think it had to do with a memo,” Babangida said.

But in a tone which revealed that the past might neither have been forgotten nor forgiven, Buhari challenged Babangida and Gusau to come clean on why they removed him, asking The Interview to choose whose story to believe.

He also fielded questions about his health, the 2016 budget, the pace of his government, former President Goodluck Jonathan and why Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola was handed three ministerial portfolios.

The edition also features interviews with Liberian presidential hopeful, Mr. Winston Tubman, and retired Justice Dahiru Saleh, the controversial judge whose court nailed June 12.

And in an interview which indicates that the battle for 2019 could be well and truly underway, pharmacist and Rotarian, Dr. Mike Omotosho, aims at the Kwara State government house.

His roadmap would give rivals sleepless nights.

“We Attacked Church Because They Were Disturbing Us With Music During Juma’at Prayer” – Suspect Says

abba-usman

Abba Usman, 18, who allegedly participated in the recent attack by some Muslim youths on St. Philips Catholic Church, Suleja, Niger State, has said his gang’s actions were not based on religious extremism.

The suspect stated that the blame should be on some female members of the church for playing musical instruments so loud, dancing and making noise while a Juma’at prayer was going on at the mosque opposite the church on Friday, July 15.

The suspect added that shortly after the Juma’at prayers on the fateful day, he and other youths went to the church premises to attack the church.

“We went to the church to teach them a bitter lesson so that they will never disturb the peace of the mosque again, especially on a Friday when we are having a prayer. They have the whole of Sunday to themselves and we have never disturbed them from doing their own programmes,” he said.

“We all entered the church and vandalised some of their property, while we took some of their musical instruments and other valuables. I went for two of the microphones with the aim of selling them, but I was not lucky as I was caught with them,” the suspect stated.

While addressing journalists, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, described the action of the youth as criminal.

He disclosed that police received a distress call that some youths were vandalising the property of the church.

“On the receipt of that complaint, we sent our Rapid Response Team to the scene but before the police team got there, many of the youth had fled. However, Abah Usman was caught in action,” he said.

Suspected Militants Kidnap RCCG Pastor in Ikorodu

Unknown gunmen have abducted a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) branch in Isawo, Ikorodu, Lagos State, Vanguard reports.

The unnamed man of God was said to have been taken inside the church on Sunday, July 24, while preparing for workers meeting.

It was gathered that the kidnappers had entered the church pretending to be members who came to worship before pulling guns on the pastor.

One of the church members identified as Williams, said the cleric was abducted around 7a.m, explaining that the workers meeting usually holds before the main service of the day.

“He was busy preparing for the meeting, when suddenly some people came in dressed in beautiful attire and they were taken for members who had come to worship. It was not until they pulled out guns before it dawned on us that they are militants,” he said.

According to a resident, Isiaka Disu, kidnapping in the area has become rampant in the last one year, urging the Lagos State government to step up security in the axis.

“Jonathan Is Responsible For Current Hardship In Nigeria” – Mbaka Defends Prophecies

mbaka-buhari-640x466

One month after he claimed he has been shut out by Aso Rock and President Buhari doesn’t pick his calls any longer, controversial Enugu-based Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, on Sunday, during his homily at Adoration Ministry, Emene, Enugu, slammed former President Goodluck Jonathan, accusing him of being the reason behind the current economic woes in the country.

Speaking through his spokesperson, Maximus Ugwuoke, he would not regret the 2015 change prophesy despite the current sufferings Nigerians are experiencing. He said:

“when these prophesies come, it must not be what people think or want; people are entitled to their views; those reactions mean nothing; the important thing is that there is nothing he had prophesized which never came to pass; the ministry does not care how people feel about his prophesies.

Some call him controversial priest; some call him fiery priest and all that, they are entitled to their opinion. The fact remains that he is a true prophet. “I will tell you something, it is for us humans to judge prophesies; he was the only person who said Buhari would win. If it were in the olden days, all those so-called men of God who castigated him would have received the wrath of God immediately. All of them should be ashamed of themselves now. “When you look at that prophesy on Jonathan, he gave it and it came to pass.

Don’t forget that two months before that prophesy, Jonathan’s wife came to the adoration ground; that is to tell you that the prophesy came from God; if after such visit, he had the courage to reveal such prophesy against them, that tells you that it is much more than what people think. Whether the prophesy is a good one or not, talking about the suffering, it has nothing to do with the prophesy.

“Before Buhari took over, the dollar was rising, there was already problem with our economy. They had oil boom but never saved; they just wasted the opportunity. Even the suffering we are talking about was part of his prophesies. I recall that on 31st of January this year, he said clearly that Nigerians should brace up for hard times, he said a lot of hardship was under way; what these suffering Nigerians are passing through are a process of change. I’m seeing a great future for Nigerians; he made it clear that there are so many holes which needed to be filled.”

Speaking on stories making the rounds that Jonathan rejected his request for an oil well, he stated that,

“these are lies from the pit of hell; these were used to water down the prophesy because people did not understand. It was even alleged that he received N5 million from Buhari; you begin to wondwer what is N5 million to Mbaka. Is it the school fees he is paying for hundreds of people? This is all propaganda.” “There was also these claims of meeting with APC chieftains before the election; he never held any such meeting; he never met Buhari before the election, there has never been any communication between them; what he has already is bigger than oil well; he is a musician and the ministry is being sustained with that”.

Police Apprehends Delta Speaker’s Aide For Allegedly Raping A 7-Year-Old Girl

onose

The police attached to the Sapele Police Station, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State, have apprehended a 54-year old man, Mr. John Onose, for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old girl. Onose is said to be an aide to the Delta House of Assembly Speaker, Monday Igbuya.

According to SaharaReporters, Onose, on Tuesday, allegedly lured the victim, a KG2 pupil, to a bush close to his home at Fovie Street, Sapele, and raped her.

A source familiar with the incident said the victim’s mother, Onome Ojakovo, was not aware until the next day when her daughter started complaining of severe pains.

When confronted by Mrs. Ojakovo, Onose, a former councillor, and member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), threatened to deal with her should she make the incident public. Onose is said to be married and has six children.

“The little girl was playing with two other children while her mother, a neighbor to the suspect, was drying clothes outside, but noticed the disappearance of the girl and started looking for her. “After about 20 minutes, the child came out from the corner of the suspect’s house” a source told SaharaReporters.

When the publication visited the Sapele Central Hospital, where the victim is on admission, a doctor, who pleaded for anonymity, confirmed the incident. According to the doctor, the victim is responding to treatment but was badly traumatized.

Narrating the incident to the publication at the hospital premises, the victim’s mother said her daughter was playing with two other kids when she noticed that her daughter was nowhere to be found and to her surprise, she later saw her daughter emerge from somewhere close to the suspect’s house.

Onose-apprehended

“When my daughter came out from the corner of Mr. Onose’s house, I didn’t suspect anything until she complained that her private part were hurting badly.

“I still didn’t pay serious attention to it. “I asked her to go and wash herself, but when she came back from the school the next day and was still complaining of the pains, I decided to check and what I saw shocked me,” she said.
She explained that her daughter was bleeding profusely. In my shock, I raised an alarm, which attracted my neighbours.
“It was then it dawned on me that my child had been sexually violated.
“I started crying and I couldn’t imagine who could have done this evil to my child.

“I was then advised to put salt in a hot water with disinfectant and get my daughter to sit astride the hot water.

“Mr. Onose came out of his compound, and when my daughter saw him, she was shocked and pointed to him as the man that injured her,” Mrs Ojakovo said.

She added that her daughter told her that the man called her to somewhere close to the bush, covered her mouth and penetrated her. Mrs. Ojakovo said the daughter also told her that Onose only let her go when he heard her calling her daughter’s name while looking for her.

She further said Onose and his wife threatened that she would be dealt with if she told anyone, the reason for which she involved the police.

When contacted, the Divisional Police Officer at Sapele Police Station, CSP Badaru Musa, confirmed the incident, stating that the police are still conducting their investigation.

“We are currently investigating the case, but until the reports of the medical examinations conducted on the girl and the suspect are released, we cannot make an official statement.
“But because of the nature of the case, the suspect is currently in detention,” Musa said.

The Delta State House of Assembly Speaker, Mr. Igbuya did not answer calls put through to his mobile line. His Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Henry Ebireri, who had earlier said Onose was the Speaker’s political associate, turned to disown Onose, branding him a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Man leaves his family and starts a new one with a dead man’s identity

A man who had been declared missing for 25 years and later declared dead in Indiana has been discovered living with a new family in Pasco County, Florida.
Terry Jude Symansky appeared to lead an ordinary life in Florida. He had a wife and a teenage son, owned property, and “worked odd jobs,” according to the Tampa Bay Times.
The only problem, police say, was that Terry Jude Symansky was not really Terry Jude Symansky. He was actually Richard Hoagland who vanished 25 years ago.
Before he began the process of assuming a new identity, Hoagland left his old life, which included a wife and four children, behind in Indiana.

The scam was discovered when a nephew of the real Terry Symansky — who drowned in 1991 at age 33 — started an Ancestry.com family search. Knowing that his uncle was dead, the nephew was surprised to find someone with the same name living in central Florida.
“He looks up his real uncle Terry Symansky and realizes that he died in 1991, which the family knew,” Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco said.
“He then starts scrolling down the page and sees more details that Terry Symanksy was remarried in 1995. He owns property in Pasco County, Florida.”
Fearing that their fake relative might try to harm them, family members waited three years before eventually contacting authorities in April, police told the Tampa Bay Times.

Hoagland, now 63, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with fraudulent use of personal identification. How exactly Hoagland came to assume the identity of Terry Symansky still remains a complicated mystery.

As Terry Symansky, he married Mary Hossler Hickman in 1995 and they had a son a couple of years later. The couple lived in Zephyrhills. He also fashioned a medical card to obtain a private pilot’s license as Terry Symansky from the Federal Aviation Administration. His former wife in Indiana told police that Hoagland had three businesses related to insurance.
