Yet Another Nigerian Man Arrested For Drug Trafficking In India (Photo)

News of Nigerian guys being apprehended because of drugs trafficking at the Asian part of the globe, most especially India, is increasing rapidly like wild fire as yet another Nigerian has been arrested.

This effect of the criminal acts is gradually gaining a worrying frequency that could affect the emigration of people to the country for medical tourism and educational purposes.

Just days after it was reported of a Nigerian man killed in Indonesia cause he was engaged in drug trafficking, another disturbing report of how a Nigerian was nabbed in a case of peddling of contraband substances has emerged by online news platform in India,India Today.

The Bengaluru police arrested a Nigerian national for allegedly indulging in drug peddling and recovered cocaine worth Rs 13 lakhs from him.

According to the police, Adinife Raphael (37) of Lagos in Nigeria came to India in 2010 and stayed in Mumbai. After spending two years in Mumbai and New Delhi, he settled down in Bengaluru in 2012. His visa and passport expired in 2015, but he continued to stay illegally in the country.

Later, he joined a group of drug peddlers, who procured the contraband material from suppliers in Goa. It is alleged that Adinife would supply cocaine to college students in east Bengaluru.

The police, who received a tip-off on the activities of Adinife, raided his home on Monday in the Bengaluru police station limits.

The police found out that Adinife had destroyed his passport. The police have registered a case against him under the Narcotics, Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
