Fast Rising Singer KBK, born Oluseyi Odewale. Is a musician, medical scientist, philanthropist, CEO koboko EntertainmentHis fulfillment didn’t come by being all that, till the day he decided to give everything away to fellow Nigerians, so that he does not have more than 1M naira his personal account at any time. Yes you read that right… he had no idea of the magnitude of the peoples’ needs (cos he lives 6000 miles away) when he formed #kbkfoundation, Requests for one-quarter bag of rice and accommodation was topping the charts in its thousands on a daily basis. Nigeria is in a state of disrepair and it’s getting worse. GDP per capita is around $5k and trust me an average Nigerian will do fine with half of that in a year. But we live poorer than we are.
We can protest all we want against the government, but you and I know, that
1. The govt will not change and
2. We are not ready for war.
As these requests keep pouring into the foundation and there’s so much one person can do, He has hereby made a passionate appeal to average and above average Nigerians to #makeanimpact in their own way.
According to him
Let’s forget about what we can get from the government for a while and pass the baton to love. It’s time to channel that energy into doing something for the other man while we try to figure out what to do with the contraption called Nigeria.
Let’s truly help each other this time without expecting a 30% increase in return. You do not have to give 70% of your earnings like me, but you can give 7% .. Set it aside just as you pay your tithe, you will get used to it in few months. Give out your lunch, give a shovel to a brother let him dig for 5mins, then pour the sand back in the hole, if you are looking for a justification to pay him.
Let the wealth spread a little, it’s foolhardy to live in posh houses and drive fancy cars, when our brothers and sisters are battling untold manmade economic recession.
I have pledged to #makeanimpact in Nigeria especially in this trying times. You will put your hands in mine and pledge the same. Wont ya?
