“Stay Away From Boli, Suya, They Can Cause Cancer” – Health Sector Warns Nigerians

Nigerians have been urged to go for periodic screening, especially for colon cancer, which is said to be a huge burden on the country, as it is common among people above 40.

The President, Society for Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Nigeria President, Prof Musa Borodo, gave this warning at a press briefing commemorating the 10th Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting of the association in Ado Ekiti. .

Borodo warned that diseases such as colorectal cancer, liver cancer, helicobacter pyloris and other infections that occur in the gastrointestinal tract, are usually not easy to detect when looking out for signs and symptoms. .

And when the symptoms are obvious they are often too late to treat. According to him, about 10 percent of people in Nigeria are suffering from Hepatitis B – a viral infection – which he warned could lead to cancer, if not properly treated. .

“This (Hepatitis B) is something that can be prevented, if you don’t treat it, it could become cancer. So, it is a huge problem.” Borodo said it was chosen to create awareness on early detection of cancer, prevention and cure.

Borodo lamented that two cases of cancer at end stage are reported daily in the treatment centre. He advised people to take natural foods, avoid refined sugar, eat well, exercise regularly, drink clean water, visit hospitals for routine check up and stay away from smoking to avoid cancer. .

Stating some of the cause of cancer, the Chairman, Local Organising Committee for the conference, Dr. Deji Ajayi, cautioned against taking burnt boli (plantain), burnt suya and refined drinks as they could cause cancer.

Sex Workers In Port Harcourt Brothel Protest Against Manager’s Plan To Host Vigil After Pastor Claims It Will Prosper Their Busines

Commercial sex workers operating at Pedro Hotel in Azikiwe Street in Mile 2, Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Thursday protested over plan by its manager to force them to attend night vigil expected to hold yesterday night, Thursday July 27.

It was learnt that the sex hawkers became angry with the manager when he insisted that every occupant of the hotel must join the night vigil or her room would be padlocked until the vigil is over.

The manager who did not mention his name while he was shouting on the ladies said he has been shifting the date of the vigil to accommodate the ladies’ view, adding that nothing will stop him from postponing the vigil again.

He noted that the night vigil was for the interest of the ladies and the business, stressing further that any lady who failed to attend the vigil will see the other side of him.

Speaking to The Nation correspondent, the receptionist said nobody is in support of the plan to host night vigil in a brothel.

She disclosed further that the manager was approached by a pastor who now made him to believe that hosting night vigil with the ladies will increase God’s blessings and prosperity on the business.

She said the ladies have made their intention clear that they are not going to attend the vigil, adding that the choice of worshipping God is in the hand of the individual which cannot be forced upon.

One of the sex hawkers, who simply gave her name as Rose, said they have talk to the manager that such plan cannot work because they are in the business which they cannot leave to attend night vigil.

She said they are not against night vigil because sometimes some of them worship their God and also attend night vigil when it pleases them.

“The manager is just wasting his time, we are going to see what would happen tonight, we are here for business and not for some religious patronage. By tomorrow we are going to pay our rent because we pay him every Friday of the week.

“How do we cope to meet up with our rent? If we attend night vigil tonight is he going to allow us to stay in the rooms without payment. Another question I want to ask is that are we going to leave our customers at the room who have already paid for daybreak, so it is not going to happen.”

Photos: Man Falls Madly Inlove With His Car And Even Makes Love To It

While many men claim to love their motors, Darius is IN love with his gold-coloured X-Type Jaguar – and makes love to “her”.

The 35-year-old bachelor suffers from a bizarre sexual condition called mechanophilia.

The rare disorder makes victims fall in love with inanimate objects and feel strong physical attraction towards them.

Darius said: “I don’t expect people to understand because it’s not something I fully understand myself.I didn’t choose this but I have fallen for a car, just like other people fall for women.I find her arousing, I love spending time with her and she is very important to me. I don’t see her as an object, I look at her and I see my lover.”:

“I’ve always been a car lover, but if someone told me it was possible to have sexual feelings towards something that’s not human I’d have laughed them off just like people laugh at me now.
“I can’t really explain what triggered it, but I went to view Goldie and had always wanted an X-Type Jaguar.’“I tried to ignore the feeling and just put it down to excitement about having a new car.

But when I got home and sat down to watch TV I had a real urge to venture into the garage and visit her in private.
“I had a girlfriend at the time and I didn’t dare tell her what was going through my mind so I used the excuse that I’d left my wallet in the car and headed out.
“I wasn’t exactly sure what would happen as the feelings were all new to me. I just knew I felt really turned on by the notion of having sexual intercourse with my new car.“When I broke the news to my girlfriend she left me right away.

“I could understand her thinking my behaviour was odd, but deep down there was a sense of relief there for me in knowing that I had got things out in the open and I was free to pursue my relationship with Goldie.
“I decided to disclose my feelings to a couple of my close friends too. They laughed at first thinking I was joking, but once they realised I was being serious they told me I was weird and that I need to get psychological help.

She doesn’t cheat on me or moan about me not doing the washing up. She doesn’t have the ability to be in a bad mood.I’ve met a few women since falling in love with Goldie and I am always completely open about her from the start.
“A couple of them have been open to giving things a go, but when I take my trips out to the garage to see her they say they just find it all too weird.
“I’d love to get married and have a family if I’m honest.
“But the next woman I date will have to be OK about sharing me with Goldie.”(culled from UK Mirror)
