“Rate At Which Girls Are Spending Time On Social Network Is Worrisome” – Sultan Of Sokoto

The Sultan of Sokoto, Saad Abubakar, has expressed concern at a development where social media are diverting the attention of students in the country.

Mr. Abubakar expressed the feeling in Sokoto on Sunday at the closing ceremony of the 6th National Edition of the Quranic Recitation Competition.

The Sultan said: “There is a disturbing development where the attention of students is being diverted from their studies. This is through the use of various social media like Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, 2Go and Instagram, among others.”

The traditional ruler urged youth, particularly girls, to stop spending too much time on social media at the expense of other engagements that would add more values to their life.

“The rate at which girls are spending time on social network is worrisome and this poses imminent danger to our society. Girls are the nerve centre of our moral and societal development and if they derail, the whole society will be in danger because they are our mothers and care givers.”

Mr. Abubakar advised parents to ensure that their daughters spend more time on meaningful things, like reciting the Holy Qur’an. “Doing so will make them better mothers and care givers’’

Billionaire Kidnapper: Police move Evans to Abuja, Tighten Security In Cell

Police authorities have moved the notorious kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, aka Evans, and his accomplices to the Force Investigation and Intelligence Department, Garki, Abuja for further investigations.

Punch’s correspondent learnt on Friday that the suspects were brought from Lagos to Abuja last Monday by men of the IG Intelligence Response Team to ensure unhindered and thorough investigation into their criminal activities.

Sources said Evans was kept at the ‘VIP wing’ of the police cell at the FCIID, Abuja, where other notorious crime suspects were being held.

It was gathered that security had been beefed up at the detention centre since the crime kingpin was brought to the cell.

A source said more police operatives were deployed in and around the facility to prevent any security breach and to safeguard all the detainees.

“Evans was brought to the FCIID on Monday and since then, the atmosphere changed. You now have more security personnel on duty as part of measures to prevent any unpleasant development. Some unidentified persons have also been visiting the suspect,” the source said.

Our correspondent gathered that the police investigators did not restrict access to the suspect in order to profile those visiting him and establish the link between them and the kidnap kingpin.

Evans and six of his co-conspirators were arrested in June, after policemen stormed the kidnappers’ den and engaged them in a gun battle which lasted several hours.

Members of his gang usually kidnapped victims in Lagos State but they had also abducted prominent Nigerians from other parts of the country.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, could not be reached for comment as calls to his phone failed to connect. He had yet to respond to a text message sent to him as of the time of filing this report.

“I Want To Marry A White Man, Nigerian Men Are Unfaithful” – Actress Sylvia Edem

Nollywood actress, Sylvia Edem, has openly shunned the idea of ever settling for a Nigerian husband, saying, though, she has no problem with Nigerian men but believes they are not right for her.

Speaking with Vanguard, the pretty actress opened up on infidelity in marriage and how love can stand the test of any situation.

“I don’t have a problem with Nigerian men but I just feel they are not right for me. I’ve been in one or two relationships with a Nigerian man, and I tried to make it work but it didn’t work, it didn’t favour me. Right now, I’m single and just patiently waiting for the right man to come my way. Nigerian men are not faithful. I’ve actually said I wanted to marry a White man right from when I was growing up. It’s not like Nigerian men are that bad but this is my own choice; it’s what I want; after trying two relationships with Nigerian men and it didn’t work for me, I gave up”, she said.

Asked what would be her reaction if she discovers that her husband cannot satisfy her in bed, she said;

“Let me tell you something about marriage, it’s all about love; whether a man can satisfy me in bed or not, if I love him I will remain in the marriage because I didn’t marry him because of the size of his manhood or how much he can satisfy me in bed. I married him because I love him so I should be able to stay in the marriage”, she said.

Nigerian Pastor Bishop Zuga Launches Special Water That Can Do Wonders

A Nigerian Pastor named Bishop Dr Sam Zuga has just taken to facebook to reveal that he is launching a special water called World Wanders Water As seen on his facebook page Bishop Dr Sam Zuga;

BISHOP SAM ZUGA LAUNCHES WORLD WANDERS WATER.

* It Hears, Sees and Act on Our Problems.
-SamZuga

The sole founder of SamZuga Foundation and House of Joy Ministry Worldwide, Bishop Dr. SamZuga has launched what many have described as another inter- ballistic missle against the devil. He called it World Wanders Water (WWW).

Earlier, the launching of the WWW was scheduled to hold in the seventh second of the seventh minute on the 7th day of July, 2017, in Niger State and was to be officially launched by the former head of state Retired General Abdusallami Abubakar who doubles as the Patron of SamZuga Foundation. But like the blessings exchanged for Jacob and Esau in the Holy book, so has God asked him to, for no genuine reason, launch it himself here at home thereby giving his people at home, the privilege to witness it.

The Man of God also disclosed that he has decided to cut short his tour in foreign lands to come and appoint his Special Adviser on Grassroots Mobilisation(Pevkyaa Solomon), to have a round table discussion with the coordinators of his new project called SamZuga Academy, and to launch the World Wanders Water. “After all of them are successfully done, I will be leaving Nigeria for America for the continuation of my tour”, said Bishop SamZuga.

Addressing thousands who came from length and breadth of this country to witness this occasion at SamZuga City in Gboko, Bishop SamZuga described water as a very dangerous source of life where all devilish activities are done. Albeit water constitutes about 75% of the human body, SamZuga noted that it remains a questionable medium of life. He explained that water is been boiled before consumption for this reason. Moreover, he recalled that after the deliverance of the man with many sins in the Bible, the evil spirits in him were casted into pigs which ran into water and since then, nothing has been heard on when and where was the water which became the habitat of the said pigs was set free.

Bishop SamZuga cited what the Italians call Triangollo delle Bermuda(The Bermuda Triangle) as an example of water. The Bermuda Triangle is an area in Atlantic Ocean where many ships and planes have disappeared under mysterious circumstances.

Speaking further, SamZuga informed that with all these, man has not questioned the actions of water because it is not Man made but God’s made. “So who will question the arrival of World Wanders Water? “, the Man of God imagined.

SamZuga therefore assured that World Wanders Water can see, hear, act, heal, revitalise dead businesses, excavate buried charms, open closed doors and wombs, force people to forget and remember you, open blocked brains, give bountiful harvest and produce millionaires among millions.

In her testimony, Pastor Grace Agape revealed how WWW has really brought many to live in Katsina-Ala and beyond, calling on all Nigerians to trust and patronise it for their good.

Nigerian Woman Based In US Kills Her New Husband To Get His Insurance Money

A Nigerian woman based in the United States has been convicted of aggravated murder after she killed her husband so she can collect $100,000 (N36.5million) in insurance money.

Uloma Walker-Curry, 45, could receive life in prison without parole for the November 2013 slaying of William Walker, whom she had married just four months earlier.

According to prosecutors, Uloma Walker-Curry was nearing financial ruin after running up tens of thousands of dollars in debt when she asked her then-17-year-old daughter and the daughter’s boyfriend to find someone to kill her husband so she could collect the insurance money.

But a police investigation found that Walker-Curry’s scheme had a glaring problem from the outset.

Her husband had not yet changed the beneficiary on the insurance policy from his ex-wife’s name to Walker-Curry’s when he was killed, and it was the ex-wife who received the money.

Testimony showed that Walker-Curry gave the boyfriend, Chad Padgett, a $1,000 down payment to carry out the murder. Padgett contacted his cousin Chris Hein, who initially failed in his attempt to kill Walker. Hein then turned to Ryan Dorty to carry out the killing.

Prosecutors said Dorty ambushed Walker and shot him four times as he returned home from getting fast food Walker-Curry had requested.

She and her husband were packing the night he was killed for a move to a house they had purchased outside Cleveland.

The daughter, Padgett, Hein and Dorty testified against Walker-Curry at trial as part of plea deal for their roles in the murder conspiracy. Hein agreed to a sentence of 18 years to life; Padgett 28 years to life; and Dorty 23 years to life.

Prosecutors agreed not to seek adult charges against Walker-Curry’s daughter. She will instead spend a month in a juvenile detention center.

The daughter testified at trial that her mother told her,

“No one would believe I would hire a bunch of kids to kill someone when I know people that could.”

Walker-Curry wrote a confession the day she surrendered to police that said she killed her husband because he was abusive. Her attorneys did not call any witnesses to testify that Walker was violent toward his wife.

45 year old Uloma Walker-Curry never knew her late husband’s ex-wife was still the beneficiary of his insurance policy.

She could receive life in prison without parole for the November 2013 slaying of William Walker, whom she had married just four months earlier.
