Rev Father Matthew Oguleru, from Ijebu Ode diocese, was kidnapped in the early hours of Wednesday, June 21, 2017, when on his way to morning mass. He was abducted along Ilado, Ibefun-Ikorodu road. .

A serving soldier of the Nigerian Army has been arrested in connection with Kidnapper Evans. According to Journalist Becky Madojemu who also shared the update, the soldier, named, Col Victor, confessed to have followed Evans for kidnapping in Lagos State 3 times where he Got 2million, 1.5million and 3Million Naira Respectively as his Share.
He was picked up by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) as part of the round-up of Evans’ wide network.

Dr. Osemwengie was joined for the graduation ceremony by his family as he revealed he has set his focus on his 4th PhD due to begin September 7th, 2017.
