Photos: Nigerian NYSC Corper Helps Little Boy She Saw Hawking On The Streets

A Rivers state NYSC member, Ugwoke Peace Udoka has helped a little boy she saw hawking vegetables on the streets of Port Harcourt secure a scholarship.

According to her, she saw him hawking, took a picture with him and someone who saw the photo on social media reached out to help him. She wrote;

“You never know how far one thing could lead to another.
Few weeks ago, I saw him hawking vegetables on the streets of Port Harcourt, apparently, he does that to assist his single mother.
He ran to me immediately and thanked me for visiting his school the previous week to speak with them and for giving them free writing materials, including mathematical sets.
We took a picture which caught social media attention and today, he’s got a scholarship support from someone who has never met him but only seen his hawking pictures.
This boy has given me the vibe to keep going. He inspires me everyday. God bless my service year.

Nigerian Billionaire Kidnapper Evans Reacts To The Fact That He Faces Death Penalty, As Ambode Signs Bill Into Law

The Lagos Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has signed into law Life Imprisonment ordeath penalty for the offence of Kidnap and forceful extortion in Lagos State as he signs into law the state kidnapping prohibition bill, 2016.

The law provides for death penalty for kidnappers whose victims die in their custody, and life imprisonment for the act of kidnapping.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Lagos State House of Assembly passed the bill on January 5.

The governor said that the law was enacted to address key issues bordering on security.

He said that kidnapping had become a major threat to the safety of residents and, therefore, required decisive action by the government.

“This law imposes a penalty of life imprisonment for kidnapping for ransom.

“The law stipulates that, where a victim dies in the course of kidnapping, the suspect is liable on conviction to death.

“Security is of utmost importance to our administration, and we are confident that this law will serve as a deterrent to anybody, who may desire to engage in this wicked act within the boundaries of Lagos State.

“Our justice system will be required to execute this law in absolute and make sure that any criminal caught faces the full wrath of the law,” he said.

Based on this, it is very likely, George Evans gets a life imprisonment or death penalty sentence.

Yesterday Evans was asked on his future and he had this to say:

“I lived a simple life although I had money. My neighbors thought that I was a businessman. On the day I was arrested, I had this strange feeling.

So I decided to stay indoors. I regret all my actions. As you can see I am reading my Bible, particularly the book of Lamentation. I don’t know what faith holds in stock for me with Lagos State’s laws on kidnapping.”

Photos: Sheep In South Africa Gives Birth To Deformed Lamb That Looks Like Human

Photos of a severely deformed lamb which has gone viral on social media have been confirmed to be real and not a humorous or malicious deception by the Eastern Cape Department of Rural Development and Agrarian Reform, South Africa.

The authenticity of the pictures was confirmed revealing that it was of a deformed stillborn lamb which was born in the Lady Frere area.

The department’s Chief Director of Veterinary Services, Dr Lubabalo Mrwebi, said it was not uncommon for pregnant animals to be infected by viruses early in their pregnancy.

He said it was “fair to assume” the animal was infected by the RFV virus and added that the department’s officials were “enlightening” livestock farmers about the incident.

He said:

“We call on the local community not to panic over this deformed lamb. We can confirm that this deformed lamb is not a progeny of sheep ovum and a human sperm.

“Virus infections in early stages of pregnancy may infect the foetus and lead to the development of malformations in the growing foetus. It is likely that this is what happened to the Lady Frere sheep‚”

“The gestation period for a sheep is five months. This means that this particular sheep conceived in late December 2016 or early January 2017‚ which was warm with plentiful rainfall in the Chris Hani district‚ conditions which are favourable to the proliferation of mosquitoes and midges known to be the vectors of viruses that cause such diseases such as the Rift Valley Fever (RVF).”

“The resultant circulation of the virus in the blood found its way through the maternal blood into the uterus and the foetus‚ which was at a very critical stage of development‚”

“The infected foetus then‚ as a result‚ failed to form properly‚ leading to the deformity that it became.”

The deformities include: – a deformed head due to abnormal accumulation of fluid in the brain cavity; – a smaller brain than normal; and – an underdeveloped lower jaw.

“The department’s veterinary officials will conduct a postmortem on this deformed lamb and its results will be communicated to the public by the department once complete‚”

“The lesson we are learning from this experience is that small stock farmers must keep their animals protected against diseases like the Rift Valley Fever with a correct vaccine‚ which is best given long before the mating season so that by the time the females get pregnant they are already protected against this disease.”

“I Just Don’t Want A Poor Person” – Trump Defends Appointing Only Rich People In His Cabinet

U.S. President Donald Trump said he wouldn’t want a poor person in charge of the economy, as he defended his cabinet, which is thought to be the wealthiest in the country’s history. .

“Somebody said, ‘Why did you appoint a rich person to be in charge of the economy?’” he told supporters at rally in Iowa. “So I said …because that’s the kind of thinking we want… because they’re representing the country. .

Making a particular reference to Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, a billionaire former investor, Trump said:, “They don’t want the money. And they had to give up a lot to take up these jobs.” .

Trump, himself a billionaire, went on to refer to Gary Cohn, his chief economic advisor. “This is the president of Goldman Sachs. Smart. Having him represent us, he went from massive paydays to peanuts, to little tiny … I’m waiting for them to accuse him of wanting that little amount of money. .

“These are people that are great, brilliant business minds, and that’s what we need, that’s what we have to have so the world doesn’t take advantage of us. We can’t have the world taking advantage of us any more. .

And I love all people, rich or poor, but in those particular positions I just don’t want a poor person. Does that make sense? If you insist I’ll do it but I like it better this way, right?” .

Trump’s Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos is also a billionaire heiress, while Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, the former boss of oil giant Exxon, is thought to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars. .

Other rich appointees include Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, a former hedge fund manager, and Housing Secretary Ben Carson, who made his fortune selling books on his career in medicine and his political ideas.
