Forbes Official List Of Top 100 Highest Paid Entertainers In The World

It may come as a surprise to some, but rapper turned businessman P Diddy was the world’s top earner on Forbes’ list of the 100 highest-paid celebrities in the past year, edging out Beyonce.

Diddy earned $130 million (£104.5m) in the past 12 months, of which $70 million (£56m) came from selling a one-third stake in his Sean John clothing line.

Diddy – whose real name is Sean Combs and earlier in his career was known as Puff Daddy – is estimated to be worth a total of $820 million even though he has released little music in the past decade.

But he has pursued a variety of business interests and last year headlined a North American arena tour with other artists on his Bad Boy Records label.

 

Last year’s top earner, pop star Taylor Swift, dropped to 49th place.

The singer brought in $44million (£32.3m), down from $170million (£137.5m) – but she hasn’t toured or released an album since 2015.

“I’ve never met anyone that works harder than me in my industry,” Beyoncé told the magazine in 1999, which must be true – as she took home $105 million (£84.4m) to secure second place, after her lucrative Formation tour, an elaborately staged set of performances that followed her Lemonade album.

Beyonce, who is expecting twins, is estimated to be worth $1 billion with her husband, rap mogul Jay Z, who himself was number 55 on the list.

Harry Potter author JK Rowling, who published a series of e-books last year, came in third at $95 million (£76m), making her the highest-paid celebrity outside of music.

She narrowly edged out Canadian hip-hop star Drake, Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and Canadian R&B singer The Weeknd.

Guns N’ Roses entered the list at number 11, earning $84 million (£67.9m), after key members Axl Rose and Slash reunited for the first time in 23 years.

The few non-Western celebrities on the list included Hong Kong martial arts film legend Jackie Chan at number 39 and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan at 65.

A young Nigerian woman who tricked a string of lonely hearts into sending her more than £100,000 in an online dating scam is facing jail. Grace Akintaro, 24, posed as a woman called Amanda Jenson and chatted online to seven men who believed they may have found love. .

She convinced her victims to send money for travel and expenses, but she then gave excuses for pulling out of face-to-face meetings. At Woolwich crown court yesterday, Akintaro, from Greenwich, pleaded guilty to seven counts of fraud by false representation on the first day of her trial. .

Judge Nicholas Heathcote Williams QC freed the women on bail until sentencing on June 20, but told Akintaro: “These were romance frauds and the fact I am ordering a pre-sentence report is no indication as to the sentence. There is a real prospect she will go to prison.”

Akintaro carried out the scam between August 2014 and December 2015. The judge said the men had suffered “psychologically and financially” once they discovered they had been conned.

Akintaro made at least 16 trips to the bank to withdraw money sent by the men, the court heard, raking in a total of £104,962. However, the court heard she only had a £5,000 Renault Clio and a few hundred pounds left, claiming the rest of money was passed on to others in the scheme. He said:

“I was devastated when I heard the news through a telephone call; since that call, I had not been able to sleep. I believe in a straight forward and honest life. Evans’ stepbrother, Chidolie Onwuamadike, said his brother’s ruin was caused by his mother. He noted that if Evans had followed their father’s advice, he wouldn’t have become a criminal.

Chidolie said:

Shocking Video: Herd Of Stampeding Cows Invade School In Anambra State & Chase Out Students

Teachers and students at a secondary school in Anambra state thought they were dreaming when they looked out of their classroom windows yesterday and saw a herd of stampeding cows charging towards them.

One quick-thinking teacher managed to capture the whole drama on camera and shared on Facebook.

According to user, Melu Grace Okwudili who shared the story, the students were writing their mid term test when Fulani herdsmen alongside their cattle invaded their school, Nwafor Orizu College of Education Demonstration Nursery, Primary and Secondary school Abata Nsugbe.

The herdsmen stood and watched their cows charge towards the young students. Thankfully, none of the students were hurt.

Grace wrote:

‘Happening now at Nwafor Orizu College of Education Demonstration Nursery,Primary and Secondary school Abata Nsugbe as Fulani herdsmen invaded the school with thousands of cow disturbing the whole pupils and students writing their mid term test.

Thank God for the Nsugbe security that went after the herdsmen and caught one of them’.
