Photos: Birthday Celebration Gone Wrong: Boy Pours Acid On His Friend In Exitment, Thinking It Was Izaal

A 14-year-old girl, Victoria Emmanuel is battling for her life after being bathed with acid by a friend on her birthday.

The incident occurred on March 29, around the night market in Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos Mainland, where she was celebrating her birthday.

While her peers were pouring water on her body, a 13-year-old boy, Moshood Yusuf, allegedly entered a shop, picked up a bottle and emptied its content on Victoria.

Witnesses said Yusuf thought he was pouring a disinfectant known as Izal on the girl.

When The Nation visited the victim’s 1, Babaelegbe Street, Mafoluku home yesterday, Yusuf’s parents were there begging her family. Victoria said she told Yusuf not to pour the content of the bottle on her since they did not know what was inside.

She said: “It was my birthday. I had told my friends the previous Monday that Wednesday March 29 was my birthday. So, when I went to fetch water at the night market that night, those who came to my house to rejoice with me followed me.

“I was carrying a big bucket on my head but on the road, they put it down and started pouring the water on me to celebrate my birthday. Some were pouring dirty water on me and others sand. That was how Moshood ran into a shop and brought out a container. There was something inside and I told him not to pour it on me because we don’t know what was in it. He opened it, smelled it and said it smelt like chemical. We told him again that he shouldn’t pour that on me but he didn’t listen. As I walked past him, he poured the content on my body from behind. I screamed and ran towards the tap but he got there before me and opened it so that water would pour on my body.

“While I was under the tap, the woman who owns the place chased us away that I was wasting her water, though she owed me N70. That was the last thing I remembered. I was later told that I fainted and was rushed to Edmark Hospital. I was discharged in the evening of the following day because my daddy insisted he wanted to take me to General Hospital. So, I was moved to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) where they have been giving me treatment.

“Moshood was arrested by policemen from Makinde but he was later released. He has not come to see me since then but his parents have been coming. We didn’t fight. We have never quarrelled. He’s my friend. I don’t know what happened. Although, one Ganiyu claimed that he told him he was going to hurt me, I don’t know if that’s true.

“They said they have asked him where he got acid from but he insisted he thought it was Izal that was inside. He said he was looking for a container to enable him carry more water and pour on me. But the shop owner has denied keeping any acid in her shop. The woman was crying and swearing that she didn’t keep anything like that since she has little children, who could have easily gotten to it.”

Victoria’s mother, Mrs. Chidinma Emmanuel lamented the hardship the incident has caused her family, saying that she has not been able to concentrate on her petty trade. She noted the expenses they have incurred since the mishap, wondering if her daughter’s skin would ever heal.

Mrs. Emmanuel said her family was not interested in a case, explaining that they would appreciate if the hospital bill was refunded.

She said: “His parents have been coming. They have extended solidarity but I think it shouldn’t just be by words of mouth. You can see that we are a struggling family.  This unfortunate incident has cost us so much. There’s a drug we have been buying N1,200 per sachet to apply on her body.

“I expect that Moshood’s family would support us financially or pick the bills, since all the children there said he was told to not pour the content on my daughter but he went ahead to do it. So far, we haven’t heard anything from them. Yes, they paid the N16,000 we were charged at Edmark the night the incident happened. After that, they haven’t done anything again. If they are coming for settlement, the only settlement is for them to pay all expenses incurred.”

Moshood’s mother, Mrs. Ganiyat Yusuf described the incident as a mistake, saying her family was awaiting the final outcome from LASUTH, to know what to do next.

She said: “It was just a mistake. In fact, Moshood also got burnt by the acid on his chest and leg. He didn’t know the content of the bottle and since they were jubilating, he poured it on her without knowing. It’s a regrettable mistake. But what we want is for peace to reign. We don’t want a situation where both families would start fighting over it or the two children becoming enemies.”

“My Mum Has Always Been Dressing Up Naked Before Me” – Man Who Started Masturbating At 4

A Kano based pastor, Kolawole Ladipo, took to his Facebook page this morning to share a compelling story of a young guy whom he counselled, a chronic masturbator who told him he started masturbating at the age of 4, after repeatedly seeing his mother go Naked before him.

Here are excerpts from the story

‘I counselled a young guy who was addicted to masturbation. He told me he can’t do without masturbation.
One thing that struck me in his confession was when he said:
”My mum caused all this for me”

Curiosity got hold of me and I asked him, how?

He said:

“I started masturbation since when I was 4 years old; my mum has always been dressing up naked before me, I am used to seeing her nakedness. I am not moved to have sex with her, but I always long to see mature ladies naked just the way I always see my mum dressing up naked before me.”

“I still remember seeing her nakedness regularly till I was 8 years; and my dad do shout on her:
‘Send this boy out before you dress,’ but my mum would always reply by saying:
‘Will my son sleep with me? Stop planting evil thought in his heart.’
“Anytime I see my mum’s naked body, I long to see ladies’ naked body.

I then went into sex at age 10 and till now I am not free from sex, heavy pornography and masturbation…”

Dear parents, I hope you are not guilty of this? You are dressing up before your 2 years old son/daughter; you say he/she doesn’t know anything yet? That’s very cruel.

Some couples will be having sex while their close-to-2-years old child will be in their room with them; they’ll feel and think that he/she can only see, he/she can’t understand.

Sir/ma’am, that your child does not need to understand. Seeing your nakedness or seeing you and your spouse making love is enough to plant abnormal sexual fantasies and urge in that child.

Remember, it is now a jet world!
How will you destroy your own children with your own carelessness?
Don’t let your children see your nakedness.
Don’t make love in the presence of your child no matter the age.
The scene sticks to the memory, they may want to explore and experiment what they are seeing.
Stop making free home-made ‘sex clips or video’ for your children to watch.
Mummy, sit properly.
Dress properly too.

Stop sitting as if you are in the labour room; parting your legs for your son to see your inner tight and pant.
Be very careful!

Daddy, don’t wear ordinary boxer at home, you sit down, your ‘thing’ is dangling and your daughter is seeing it. There are things you should not wear beyond your bedroom, just for your spouse. Don’t say because you want to enjoy your freedom in your house. It’s not your house alone, it’s a family house/home. You are putting your children into sexual bondage through these acts. The initiation starts from home.

Mummy, wearing ordinary bra around the house in the presence of your sons is dangerous. Yes, they won’t lust after you, but you might be messing up with their sensuality; and increasing their curiosity to see the breasts of ladies out there.

Let’s stop being ‘pornographic materials’ to our children. Raising sexually pure children, it begins at home.’ It begins with me and you.

“If Nigeria Is Broken Into Components, Northern Nigeria Will Be Poorest” – Emir of Kano

Emir of Kano, Sanusi Muhammad II says if Nigeria were to break up into components today, Northern N‎igeria would be the poorest countries in the world. .

The Monarch said this in his key note address during the opening ceremony of Kaduna State’s Investment and Economic summit (KADINVEST), titled ‘Promoting Investment Amidst Economic Challenges’ in Kaduna state today April 5th. .

Emir stressed that it would be a disservice to use the standard of living of Nigerians residing in oil rich Niger Delta or commercially viable Lagos and business oriented south-east, to compare that of the North. .

According to the Emir, the North East and North West regions are the most poorest regions in the country and even in the world. ‎ “As far back at 2000, I looked at the numbers, Borno and Yobe states, UNDP figures, Borno and Yobe states, if they were a country on their own, were poorer than Niger, Cameroon and Chad. .

Nobody saw this because we were looking at Nigeria as a country that averages the oil-rich Niger Delta, the industrial and commercial-rich Lagos, the commercially viable southeast, and you have an average. Break Nigeria into its component parts, and these parts of the country are among the poorest, if it were a country. .

And we do not realise we are in trouble. Other Muslim countries have pushed on. We are fighting culture, we are fighting civilisation. You tell me that you should not write love book in northern Nigerian.‎ What is the crime of those books?” he asked. .

He decried the burning of science books in some parts of the Nort due to religious beliefs. On the culture of marrying more than one wife and given birth to children without proper Family planning, Sanusi said “Of what benefit is it to the north, having three million children roaming about?” he asks
