Shocked Mum Finally Breastfeeds Her Baby Boy, After Initial Refusal

Mum-of-four Khalida Begum, 35, has given in to her instincts and begun to breastfeed her baby boy, despite calling him an ‘alien’ for his deformities. The unusual looking baby, from India, was born with a tiny head, bulging eyes and a hard, shell-like body.

He has been swarmed by local visitors who believe he is a reincarnation of a Hindu God. Begum gave birth to the little boy on Monday and said she was “shocked” when she saw his appearance. She initially refused to breastfeed the baby.

Doctors in India have diagnosed the boy with an extremely rare genetic condition called harlequin ichthyosis, locals said. Villagers in Kadamgachi in Kathihar, are now flocking to the family home, believing he is an incarnation of Hindu monkey God Hanuman, it has been reported. .

His mother said: “Several body parts of the baby is not completely developed. When I saw the baby after delivery for the first time, I was completely shocked to see the alien-looking boy. I couldn’t believe that I had a delivered an alien-like boy.

I was so shocked and saddened by this that I asked the midwife to take the baby out of my sight. My other children were born healthy without any deformity. That’s why it took me sometime to absorb the shock.”

The boy’s father, Mohammed Imtiyaz added: “Maybe God has sent him as an exhibit.” It is not known how long the boy is expected to survive.

Bill To Prohibit Tribal Marks Passes Second Reading

A Bill for an Act to provide for the Prohibition of Facial Mutilation, Offences, Prosecution and Punishment of Offenders on Tuesday passed second reading in the Senate. .

The Bill is also for the Protection of victims under threat of facial mutilation and other related Matters. Sen. Dino Melaye (APC-Kogi), who sponsored the bill, said that there was no doubt that Africans of old used tribal marks as a means of proper identification. .

Leading debate on the bill, Melaye said in those days, members of the same village, tribe or lineage had the same tribal marks. Melaye said that the hometown and lineage of a child or anyone with tribal marks were immediately identified, while outsiders who did not have such marks were also spotted. .

He further explained that parents also used tribal marks to lay credence to the legitimacy of their children. However, the lawmaker said “all these reasons cannot be scientifically proven, and hence cannot enjoy the support for this harmful practice’’. .

“The irony of these marks is that it makes victims subjects of mockery by friends. Imagine someone being called a tiger simply because of the thick cheeks resulting from facial marks.

These people have been subjected to different reactions. Some have lamented the marks that are bequeathed on them as generational inheritance.Many have cursed the day which this dastardly act was performed on them.

Many of the grown adults have confessed that the most terrific debacle of their lives is their tribal marks. Some have become eunuchs because of this stigma. Imagine a boy in the class of 25 pupils carrying a tribal mark. His mates will call him the boy with the railway line. .

They are emblems of disfiguration. Some of them have developed low self-esteem and most times treated with scorn and ridicule including rejection by the female folks.

The reactions of people who interact with them say it dampens and lowers their spirit,’’ he said. Melaye stated that besides the health implication of the practice, it was an infringement on the rights of children, adding that every Nigerian child deserved the right to live.

Pastor Arrested While Trying To Bomb His Ex-Church In Edo state

Pastor Abel Eku, who served the Christ Chosen Church of God for 25 years, has been arrested for planting explosives at the headquarters of his church. It was gathered that the Benin-based Pastor planted explosives at the church headquarters on January 22, scheduled to be the day for the church’s international conference.

The Pastor who was arrested after the bomb was detected and detonated by security operatives of the Edo State Police command, confessed to committing the crime. He further disclosed that he manufactured and planted the bombs, as  a way of revenging his bitter dismissal from the church over marital issues.

The 57-year-old Pastor further told newsmen, that he had a rethink and called the church’s officials telling them about the location of the bomb, which he alleged wasn’t meant to
kill but to scare his church members and elders.

“I am 57 years old. I had marital issues with my wife. We came to the church to resolve it and it was not resolved. It led to my dismissal. I was very bitter about the dismissal. I don’t have the intention of killing people. My action is very bad.”

On how he was made a pastor in the church, Pastor Abel said his parents offered him to the church as a first fruit because of inability to have children. “I was given to the church as a first issue.
My parents were married for many years without any issue, so they vowed at the alter that any first child God gave to them would be given to the church. That was how they gave me to the church” he said.

It was gathered that the deceased, a yet-to-be identified lady, approached Hassan, a cleric, for spiritual cleansing in Sango Otta, due to some challenges she was facing. He was on his way to hand over the needed body parts to a cleric, when he was accosted by curious people, as the bag was dripping blood. .

When they forcefully took the bag from him, a female head, two wrists and a heart spilled out. They raised alarm, which alerted other residents. But for the prompt intervention of policemen from Area ‘K’ Command, Badagry, Hassan would have been lynched by a mob, who tied his hands, legs and was dragging him on the ground.

On interrogation before police arrived, Hassan disclosed that it was his second time of killing clients for the unnamed cleric for ritual purpose. According to him, “she was not my direct client. A herbalist, Baba Ronke, brought her to me on Sunday. .

One Alfa from Sango-Otta took her to him. He said that the woman was looking for spiritual solution. The Alfa from Otta uses human beings for rituals. He deceived the woman to Badagry, saying he was bringing her to a senior colleague, who would perform some cleansing by the river side on her.

Immediately they dropped the woman by the riverside they left, with a promise to wait for her at the bus stop. While she was waiting, I came and did my part of the job. She said she was from Ojodu Berger. I felt pity for her, but I could not help the situation.

On Monday luck ran out of Lukeman Ibrahim, as he attempted to withdraw N110, 000 from another customer’s account, after stealing his transfer slip, then forging the victim’s signature on a bank withdrawals slip, right there in the bank, before proceeding to carry out the fraud. .

However, he was arrested by the bank’s security personnel who handed him over to the Police when his face could not match that of his victim’s. Ibrahim said he is from Bauchi state and a graduate of Pure Mathematics from the University of Maiduguri. .

The victim, Theophilus Agada, said he had gone to GTB, Garki branch, Abuja, to transfer some money to another account when the fraud was attempted on his account. .

He said, unknown to him, the suspect stole his transfer slip after he had transferred the money and gone and then attempted to withdraw the said sum before he was caught.

He said it was the bank who called his attention to the attempted fraud. According to him, ” I was already out of the bank premises when they called me and said someone wanted to make a withdrawal from my account. They said they had to call me because the suspect’s face did not match mine.

On getting to my bank, I saw that the suspect forged exactly my signature and my full name. Everything was perfect except his face which gave him away. This is the second time the suspect is trying to defraud people at the bank. .

Last week, he attempted defrauding another person at the Area 3 branch of GT Bank but was arrested and later bailed only for him to repeat the same crime at Area 11 today. .
