Mother Throws Her Newly Born Baby Inside Soakaway

The police in Bauchi have arrested, Juliana James, a mother-of-six, who threw her day-old baby into a soakaway pit after being delivered of the child at home, the Punch is reporting.

The suspect, who wept bitterly when paraded at the police headquarters in Bauchi on Friday, said she was forced to dispose off the child because of economic hardship as she could not include the burden of taking care of it together with her six other children.

“Things are hard. My husband has no job. He had an accident three months ago and it affected his manhood. He is still in the hospital receiving treatment.

“I delivered at home and threw the baby in the toilet because I don’t know how we are going to take care of it. I didn’t tell my husband.”

The day-old baby was rescued alive after 12 hours of being inside the pit when her cry attracted neighbours who rushed it to the Abubakar Tafawa University Teaching Hospital for medical attention.

Addressing newsmen, Commissioner of Police in the state, Zaki Ahmed, said the case was being investigated, revealing that the baby had been handed over to social welfare officers at the hospital.

The worrying trend of new mothers disposing their newborns is becoming very alarming. Just last month, the police arrested an 18-year-old who dumped her four-month-old baby under the Oshodi bridge in Lagos.

Late last year, residents of Uyo watched as an abandoned baby cries herself to death. Nobody tried to rescue her for fear of being arrested by the police.

See Amazing Before And After Photos Of WWE Wrestler, Big Show’s Weight Loss Journey

‘The World’s largest Athlete is looking jacked ‘AF’ thanks to some encouragement from ‘The Champ’ John Cena

The Big Show, real name Paul White, has been performing in the ring for 20 years now, spending 18 of those in the WWE.

Know for his intimidating height and physique he has been entertaining arenas up and down America, and across the globe, for well over a decade. However, as the man himself puts it, he made a ‘conscious decision’ to change his look.

Speaking to WWE The Big Show pointed out that:

You don’t make the transformation I’ve made without a serious commitment to changing 40 years of improper diet and improper training. I wanted to make a change, and I was given the time and opportunity to make a change, so I took advantage of it

It wasn’t an overnight process either, the WWE veteran was already working on an exhausting 22-year schedule, “Five days a week, 200-plus days a year on the road”, which at the time left little space for him to work on himself. It was only when he took time off the WWE’s hectic schedule that he decided to ‘re-evaluate’ what he wanted going into future.

With the help of his trainer Paul Dodd (who is in the top photo), the 42-year-old giant took to Miami, Florida to begin his amazing transformation. A typical day’s training for Big Show would vary.

Explaining that:

… if I’m home three days, I train every day. If I’m home 10 days, I train every day. Right now, mostly, everything I count on is high-rep. Everything from 50 reps, 35 reps, 21 reps.

What has helped more for him however is his intense diet, for anyone who still watches WWE today, you’ll have noticed that he’s 70-lbs lighter. He’s quick to point out that it’s ‘not an easy process’ and is the reason why he’s failed in his attempts to shed weight in the past.

But through sheer willpower alone he’s able to maintain a healthy lifestyle and that “the days of slammin’ ice cream and enjoying pizza and meatball subs” are now in the past.

He also credits WWE’s franchise superstar John Cena as force for encouragement, remembering how they were ‘were joking one day’.

As he recalls:

We were talking about getting in shape and I said, “Ah, what the hell is a giant gonna do with abs?” and John looked at me with a straight face and said, “Yeah. A giant with abs. That wouldn’t be marketable at all.” And he walked off. It was kind of a shot, but [later] John reached out and congratulated me on the work I’ve done. That meant a lot. To have that respect from him was a big boost

Big Show’s new look is all in the run-up to this year’s marquee wrestling PPV, Wrestlemania, where it’s rumoured that his opponent will be NBA Hall of Fame legend Shaquille O’Neal.

This year will be the 33rd annual Wrestlemaina and will be held at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida on April 2.

Oil companies in Nigeria have been directed to move their headquarters back to the Niger Delta in order to have a major impact in their host communities.

Oil companies in Nigeria have been ordered to relocate to the Niger Delta
The Acting President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has directed the International Oil Companies operating in the Niger-Delta region to relocate their headquarters to their States of operation to mitigate tension in host communities.
Osinbajo made the call during a Town Hall meeting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital on Thursday during continuation visit to the region to dialogue with stakeholders.
According to Vanguard, the Acting President urged the Minister of State, Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu to begin the process of engaging the International Oil Companies on the way forward to actualize the directive, saying “I think it is the right thing to do”.
He disclosed that, the Ministry of Petroleum is also working with major oil companies on several initiatives including; working on illegal refineries to establish modular refineries to achieve the desired result.
On the Federal Government amnesty programme for ex-agitators, Osinbajo re-iterated the federal government stand noting that, the Ministry of Petrolum and Amnesty office are working with the state governments of the region on providing the benefits to young people in the states.
He emphasized on the importance of the Ibaka deep Sea port project, saying that, the Federal Government is seriously committed to its realization.
According to him, “Indeed as a matter of fact, in the 2017 budget there is already a provision for the Ibaka port. There is already N1billion provision. It is a matter we take seriously to partner with the Akwa Ibom State Government”, urging state governments in the region to attract private investments in their domain in order to create employment opportunities for the youths.
Earlier, Governor Udom Emmanuel appealed to the Federal Government to integrate Akwa Ibom indigenes who were left out in the amnesty programmes, as well as stressed the need for the reactivation of the Aluminum Smelter Company (ALSCON) at Ikot Abais local government area of the state to create more opportunities for the people.
He said, “With facilities we have in ALSCON, we cannot see it anywhere in Africa; from the services, communication to power generation you can create seven profits centres.”
Emmanuel further begged Osinbajo to help the state complete the maintenance, repairs and overhaul (MRO) facilities at the Akwa Ibom International airport to assist repairs of aircrafts assuring that, any financial assistance for the completion of the MRO will be refunded in no time from revenue generated from the repairs of aircrafts.
