Photos: Awww! Couple With Down Syndrome Gets Married (Must See)

Polly and Joe fell for each other when they met 8 years ago as college students in Sussex, UK. The couple who said their attraction was instant didn’t let disability stand in the way of a fairy tale wedding when they decided to tie the knot.

Polly said she wanted her big day to have a festival vibe and she pulled off the feat with about 200 guests present to see her get hitched to her sweetheart in a ceremony that looked like something out of a Disney story.

They got married in May last last year but are only just sharing pics from the event in the hope that their story may help others.

Polly said: ‘It would be wonderful if our story could touch the lives of others struggling to cope with any kind of disability or inequality. The greatest thing is to love and be loved in return.’
‘Our favourite parts of the day were saying I do, exchangingRINGS and dancing to Labyrinth’.
‘We also love that so many people came to celebrate with us.’

‘My advice to other couples, especially to young adults with special needs, is to live the dream, believe in yourselves and that anything can be possible.’

Nigerian Drug Peddler John Okoro Breaks Out Of Jail In India Few Hours Before Deportation

A Nigerian drug peddler, John Okoro who had served a prison term and was a few hours from being deported has made a daring escape from the Anti-Narcotics Cell’s custody, Indian newspapers have reported.

Okoro, 35, had sought permission to step out of the detention room on the first floor of the agency’s Azad Maidan office around 2 a m, saying he wanted to use the toilet, and then jumped from the balcony. He crashed through the asbestos roof and fled on foot.

The constable guarding him also leaped from the balcony in a desperate attempt to nab him, but ended up injured. He is recovering at the Nagpada police hospital.

The Anti-Narcotics Cell’s Azad Maidan office is barely 15 feet from the local police station. The office shares a wall with the police’s station detection room. The Esplanade court is in the same compound.

An alert has been issued for Okoro, who was convicted for trying to selling banned substances in 2014 and recently completed his jail term.

Before his conviction, the 35-year-old Nigerian lived in Koparkhairane, Navi Mumbai. After his prison sentence ended, he was placed under the ANC’s custody on December 31 and he was due to be deported on Monday afternoon.

“Around 2 am, Okoro told the constable on guard that he wanted to visit the washroom. He was being taken there when he jumped from the balcony. He landed on the asbestos roof, which immediately gave away,” a police officer said. “He ran in the directions of Mahapalika Marg.”

Another officer said a manhunt had been launched and the Anti-Narcotics Cell had asked informers to be on the lookout. Okoro was wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and slippers.

Fresh charges stemming from his daring escape have been registered at the Azad Maidan police again.

Photo: Twins Born In Different Years Celebrate First Birthday

Twin babies who made headlines after being born in different years on New Year’s Eve have celebrated their first birthdays.

Little Silas and Annabelle were born in a hospital in Esbjerg in Denmark, with Silas being delivered shortly before midnight in 2015 and Annabelle just after the clock had struck midnight to welcome 2016.
They were born nine weeks early and spent four weeks in intensive care fighting for their lives.
But one year on, the tots are thriving and celebrated their first birthdays together with their family. Their parents, Erika and Günther Eckhard, from Austria, say the eventful New Year’s Eve is one they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Dad Günther said:

“Our little sunbeams are developing beautifully, there are no problems with their health, nor are there any developmental issues. They are brilliant at turning the whole house upside down, which is great for us!”

The family celebrated the babies’ birthdays together on New Year’s Eve and gave them each a rocking horse.

Mum Erika said: “As long as they are so small, it’s not important. But when they get a little older, we think we will celebrate on separate days to give them their own birthday”
