FG Approves Arms-Bearing For The Men And Officers Of FRSC

The FG has approved arms-bearing for the men and officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps, following upsurge in violent attacks and killing of some of its operatives during legitimate duties.

This is coming on the sad revelation that the Corps has lost over 70 of its personnel in 2016 alone as a result of violent attacks by motorists at the course of duties on highways.

Corps Marshal and Chief Executive of FRSC, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, made this known on Friday in Abuja at the end of year management strategy session as a way to assess the Corps stewardship as well as ensuring effective service delivery.

He noted that the FRSC Establishment Act gives power to the corps to bear arms and that the FG had earlier approved that, with about 5,000 personnel already undergoing training on firearms. Crdt: Tribune

“I Marrried My Wife A Virgin” – Governor Of Cross River State Ben Ayade

ayade

Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State said, yesterday, that he married his wife as a virgin, which is the pride of Africans, who value the virtues of chastity.

Governor Ayade, who made the disclosure in Calabar, while delivering a lecture on the HIV/AIDS scourge to mark the 2016 World Aids Day, said the greatest gift any woman could possibly hand to her husband was to present her body as a virgin to him.

He said: “I should say to the teenagers here today that when somebody leads you to the altar, at the end of that day he should be glad to say I married my wife a virgin.”

The governor stated that young people easily gave in to sex due to financial inducement, peer pressure and influence of international movies and believed that with the use of condom they were secure from HIV, which in most cases was not full-proof protection against the pandemic.

According to the governor, “when people use condom, they think they are safe which is the major cause of infection because evidence abound that the use of condom does not provide total protection against HIV/AIDS since the condom itself has small holes that are 0.05 wider than microbes, which makes HIV virus to pass successfully.”

Dr Rose Nyambi, the Director General of the State Action Committee Against AIDS, SACA, said the state had 164,267 persons (108,000 females; 61,827 males) living positively with the virus.

“God took Me From Mushin To Surulere To Banana Island” – Billionaire Blogger Linda Ikeji

linda100

In a recent interview with Encomium, Nigeria’s richest blogger, Linda Ikeji, reflected on how God changed her status from Mushin to Banana Island. Read excerpts below:

A lot of people want to know how you got your wealth?
From blogging! A thousand percent is from blogging. I don’t do any other thing. There is so much money to be made from blogs that people do not know.

How many staffers do you have?
I have over 30. Last month was the first time I paid a lot of people. I was like, I could have kept this whole money for myself but it is part of expansion and growth.

Do you think you court controversy or just misunderstood?
I don’t go out of my way to look for controversy maybe I am being misunderstood. I am a blogger and a business woman, I have to go out of my way to look for gossip for my readers. I don’t want anybody to fail. I don’t wish anybody evil.

How did you feel when Kemi said you took money from Dasuki?
I have never denied it. The reason I never said anything about it was because it was overwhelming. Someone called me and said I should calm down. The person said people have not come to terms with the fact that I bought such a property. Before the whole stuff started, I have never heard of the man’s name. The only money I collected from any APC or PDP was for advert. I know I am not guilty of anything. If not, EFCC would have come for me by now.
When people say such things, I understand where they are coming from. Those who are not into online business will not know how it works. It is only those into online business that know I can buy two of that house.

What will happen to your house when you get married?
My parents would live there. I live with all my family now – my parents and my sisters.

Can you tell us how you felt the day you bought your house?
I was extremely happy. I couldn’t believe it. From Mushin to Surulere to Banana Island. I think you have only one life to live. My dream was a luxurious house and I said if I could afford it, I would get it. It was such an amazing day for me.

“God Used My Injury To Save Me” – Chapecoense Player Moises Santos Who Didn’t Make The Trip Because Of Injury

brazil-footballer-630x420

A distraught team-mate of the Brazilian footballers killed in the Colombian plane crash has made the astonishing claim the players were ‘assassinated’, declaring in an emotional outburst: ‘That wasn’t an accident’.

Clearly still in a state of shock, Chapecoense player Moises Santos, who did not travel on the doomed jet because of injury, claimed pilot Miguel Quiroga ‘was the only guilty one’ in the tragedy.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, the grieving player – one of just seven who didn’t take the doomed plane – wept as he said he would ‘certainly have been among the dead’ if he had been fit.

He said: ‘

At the moment I got injured I questioned God, and said to my wife ‘why me?’ Today I can see that because of my injury, God delivered me.

‘But how can I say that God delivered me, when he didn’t deliver my friends who were on that plane? If he saved me why didn’t he save them as well? I don’t have any reason to talk of being delivered.

He then made the astonishing claim:

‘My friends were assassinated – that wasn’t an accident.’You can’t hope for much from human beings. That guy who was taking the Chapecoense players, he destroyed many families, he destroyed the whole city of Chapeco. For Chapeco get back everything that we were living will take a long time. ‘Many people in Chapeco were dependent on the players, the families of the players, and now what are they going to do? This is the question that everybody is asking, what is going to happen to the families?
