According to Daily Mail Moses Mushonga, 28, had walked up to the young lady in Mvurwi, Zimbabwe. Firstly he manhandled her, leaning into her bra and touching her breast. This did not endear him to the 23-year-old, called Chipo, but to add insult to injury, he then tried to haggle with his only asset.

Mushonga told her he had just spent his last bit of money on buying two boiled eggs, which cost 0.25 Zimbabwe dollars, the equivalent of less than a penny or a cent. Sadly he had already eaten one too.

Insulted by his attitude, Chipo flew into a rage, hiting hit him with a beer bottle, and then punching him in the face, before knocking him out. When he came round, Mushonga was bleeding heavily from his head. He told local media: ‘She could have just said no.’

Chipo, who was not charged by police, said she simply felt he needed to be taught a lesson about respect. Earlier this year the Weekend Post newspaper in the capital, Harare, reported that the economy was so bad that sex workers had reduced their prices to 0.8 Zimbabwe dollars – equivalent to half a loaf of bread. But they clearly draw the line at a boiled egg.

“Jonathan May Contest 2019 Elections” – Dele Momodu

Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan smiles during a press conference at the South African Parliament in Cape Town, on May 7, 2013. The leaders of Africa's two biggest economies, South Africa and Nigeria, pledged closer ties on Tuesday in what was hailed as a milestone in a sometime patchy relationship. Former President, Goodluck Jonathan, may seek reelection in Nigeria’s 2019 presidential election, the publisher of Ovation Magazine, Mr. Dele Momodu, has said.

Jonathan, who ruled Africa’s most populous nation from 2011 to 2015, lost his bid for reelection in last year’s presidential polls to President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressive Congress.

Since leaving office Jonathan’s profile internationally has risen, and Mr. Momodu says the Peoples Democratic Party chieftain may stage a comeback bid in 2019.

In an article titled, “The second coming of Goodluck Jonathan”, Mr. Momodu explained that the victory of US President-elect Donald trump “should bring us back to our senses”.

He wrote, “I have been reading about the rising profile of our former President, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, and wish to state without equivocation that no one should rule him out of the 2019 presidential race. I first hinted this possibility about two months ago and wish to reiterate that Nigerians should prepare for the shock that awaits us. The story of Donald Trump should bring us back to our senses. Nothing is impossible. The second coming of Goodluck Jonathan may be so far-fetched or even belong in those categories of impossibilities but I wish to plead with our government and my fellow citizens not to rule it out. As one of those who made our modest and humble contributions to the coming of this Buhari government, I’m pleading with trepidation.

Mr. Momodu blamed the ex-president’s rising profile on the failure of the government to maintain “the economy it met”.

He said, “Nigerians would have been ready to enter fire with Buhari. But there are just too many unresolved problems and challenges. The excuses that Jonathan and company left this peculiar mess behind has refused to fly.”

The business magnate said that the expectation of Nigerians who voted massively for the ‘change’ preached by the APC  during its campaign are “confronted with the reality of an economic recession they never planned for; a situation they did not experience under the Jonathan administration and under previous governments”.

He said, “The BBC reported on Friday how Jonathan caused a stir in Sokoto State during his visit to the state to pay his respects to Ibrahim Dasuki, the late former Sultan of Sokoto. According to the report, Jonathan was received by a large crowd of admirers, some holding banners bearing the words “Come Back Baba Jonathan”.

“The same voices that chanted “Sai Baba” and “Jonathan Must Go” are now fiddling with the tunes of the possibility of a Jonathan to stage a comeback. Here lies the irony of political triumph and the paradox of high expectations.

“The euphoria and momentum that saw the exit of Jonathan and the emergence of the Buhari change administration has since begun to wane following the inability of the new government to hit the ground running with the tenacity of a government in a hurry!

“There are many who believe that the poor management of the ensuing economic recession didn’t help matters. Suddenly, Nigerians who had high hopes and voted massively for change are now caught in a limbo between confusion and uncertainty.”

Photo: Over 20 Members Of The Dreaded Nigerian Mafia Gang, Black Axe Arrested In latest Police Raids Across Italy

black-axe-in-italy-nov2016-1More than 20 members of notorious Nigerian mafia gang, the Black Axe
have been rounded up during raids in Italy.
The suspects are accused of being involved in a catalogue of criminal activities, from prostitution and protection rackets through to drug dealing and human trafficking.
The nationwide operation was co-ordinated by the anti-mafia squad in Palermo, Sicily. The arrests come after a member of the Black Axe turned informer and revealed the workings of the secretive criminal network, including the identifies of senior members.
Among those detained in the latest raids was the head of the group’s Italian operation in Padua. The rise of the Black Axe has been linked to the wave of migrants making the crossing from North Africa. It has been reported the criminal syndicate has forged links with the Italian mafia, the Cosa Nostra. According to the authorities, the Italian gangsters import drugs, which are then distributed by the Nigerians.
However, as part of the subordinate relationship, it is understood the Nigerian gang are banned by their Italian counterparts from carrying guns and so settle their differences using axes and machetes.

I started trekking in 2008 when I decided not to sleep in Adamawa State that particular day and I moved from my village to the border between Nigeria and Cameroon. My trekking is not for fun but for world peace. We must shun all negative tendencies.”
