Kwara State Woman Heading To Saudi Arabia For Pilgrimage Excretes 76 Pellets Of Cocaine At Airport

A pilgrim heading to Medina, Saudi Arabia, to perform the annual pilgrimage has tested positive to narcotic ingestion at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency said in a statement Friday.

Basira Binuyo, 55, was arrested during the outward screening of passengers on an Emirate flight to Medina through Dubai.
“She has so far excreted 76 pellets of drugs that tested positive for cocaine,” said Hamisu Lawan, NDLEA commander at the Abuja airport.

“Meanwhile, she is still under observation until the drugs are completely expelled.”

Mrs. Binuyo hails from Irepodun local government area of Kwara State and is married with three children.

Mrs. Binuyo, a trader at Dosumu market, Lagos, was quoted as saying she needed money to expand her business.

“I wanted to expand my cosmetic business but I have no money,”she said. “My sponsor offered to foot my expenses to Saudi on pilgrimage. I was excited until I was asked to take drugs along.

“I wanted to decline but considering the offer of a million naira, I accepted. I swallowed the drugs in Lagos and took flight to Abuja on my way to Medina but I was caught in the process.”

The NDLEA said it also intercepted Henry Okpalanem, a 37-year-old father of three, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, who had inserted seven wraps of cocaine weighing 355 grammes into his anus.

Both suspects were going to Saudi Arabia and China respectively where drug trafficking is punishable by death.

Mr. Okpalanem was apprehended during an outward screening of passengers on an Ethiopian Airline flight to Hong Kong, China through Addis Ababa.

Ahmadu Garba, NDLEA commander at the Lagos airport, said the suspect, who hails from Imo State, holds a dual citizenship of Nigeria and Mali.

“The name on his passport is Diara Sauduo while his Nigerian name is Okpalanem Henry,” said Mr. Garba.

“The case is under investigation.”

The NDLEA said the suspect did not show any remorse upon his arrest.

“I know that there is capital punishment for drug trafficking in China but I was optimistic of safe passage,” Mr. Okpalanem had told NDLEA investigators.

“Unfortunately, I was caught with only seven wraps. Maybe that is my destiny.”

Muhammad Abdallah, NDLEA Chairman, said the arrests were commendable.

“We will continue to be on the alert in protecting all exit and entry points from drug trafficking organisations,” said Mr. Abdullah, a retired colonel.

“I am glad that the suspects were arrested here thus preventing them from untimely death and also protecting the image of our country from disrepute.”

Does This Mean Goodbye To Oil?: Gold Discovered In Kano State, Northern Nigeria In Large Quantity? (Photos)

Gold12

Facebook user Jaafar Jaafar shared the post of his friend Rufa’i Dabo, who wrote an interesting post after he visited Bagwai and Shanono LGAs in Kano.

The man claims that these two villages are abundant of discovering gold and other natural resources. According to him the only problem is that the locals can only dig a little as they do not have the modern equipment to assist them in mining these mineral resources.

He also shared photos of the villagers digging and searching for gold in the rivers where they think the gold could have been stuck.

Read Rafa’I Dabo’s post below:

“Fifteen kilometres into the dense farmland, lays a deposit of gold right under our noses. Gold is mined by locals in limestone rocks and shallow ditches. Sometimes it is washed away by running water as “alluvial gold”.

“Locals use makeshift equipment and primitive tools to dig or trap gold from running water. Hundreds of ditches have been dug and left uncovered, posing a major environmental challenge.

“The locals have done all they could for government intervention by securing a mining license and getting investors that can give them jobs and provide the much needed infrastructure (roads, schools, etc) as corporate social responsibility.

According to the locals, it is sold @ N10,000 per gram and N2,000 per 50kg of unprocessed and unrefined limestone rocks. At the moment there is no case of lead poisoning but the environment is ravaged by gullies and erosion.”

Recently a private mining syndicate headed by Hugh Morgan has made a possibly “high grade” nickel discovery in Nigeria.

The discovery is reportedly unusual because the nickel is found in small balls up to 3mm in diameter of high purity in shallow soils in what could be the surface expression of a much bigger hard-rock nickel field.

This Lady Was Bounced From The Immigration Office For Dressing Like This

Nigerian-Ports-Authority

Nigerian Ports Authority has banned jeans, mini skirts, tight dresses for staff and it looks like some other government agencies have or are planning to follow suit. This lady said she went to the immigration office dressed like this yesterday and she was refused entrance.

“I went to the National Immigration Service located on Airport road, Abuja and my contact person asked me to go to Shehu Shagari House.

“I got there and as I proceeded to head upstairs as instructed, the front desk officer angrily told me to come back. I told him who I was looking for and he said to go and wait for him outside. It seemed strange but I went outside.

“While waiting outside, two female Immigration officers went to the guy at the entrance, pointed at me and instructed the man not to allow me enter because of what I was wearing which is pictured below.

“I screamed and shouted. My contact came downstairs and they told him that I couldn’t enter with what I was wearing. My understanding of any government agency is that they provide service to the citizens, they do not as an agency or as individuals have powers to legislate dressing.

“There has to be an end to madness. There has to be an end to anyhowness. Nothing in my 30+ on earth has irked me as much. I will be doing something about that.”

Legendary Rapper Lil Wayne Announces Retirement From Music: ‘I am Mentally Defeated’

lil-wayne-hot-100-fest-live-mazur-2015-billboard-650-c

Lil Wayne bows out. Today, the Young Money rapper made an unprecedented announcement about his career: he says he is done with music.

“I am now defenseless and mentally defeated and I leave gracefully and thankful,” he said, adding, “I luh my fanz but I’m dun.”

This comes just weeks after the Grammy Award winning rapper suffered multiple seizures. In June, Wayne was hospitalised after suffering double seizures during a flight from Milwaukee to California. And a month later, in July, he was hit by another seizure, this time in Vegas, and had to be hospitalised again. But he would emerge later to say it was a ‘false alarm‘.

His health issues were linked to the dangerous drink sizzurp (a purple concoction made from codeine and other drinks) which he is addicted to. Over the years, he had health emergencies, sometimes while on stages.

Now, he says he is ‘mentally defeated’ and ‘defenseless’, an expression that has fans worried if the sudden retirement is linked to his battled with sizzurp.

However, he is being celebrated on social media. Check out some of the reactions from fans:

This Guy Thinks Funke Akindele’s Jenifa Diaries Is A Failed Attempt At Comedy

Man-681x681

Thought I’ve not watched Jenifa’s Diary..But I must confess, Funke Akindele is a Fantastic Actress!

But a Facebook user, Femi Owolabi says otherwise…He feels Funke Akindele is overrated and a failed attempt at Comedy.

Hepoured his heart yesterday in a post. According to him, he doesn’t find the much loved Jenifa’s Diary produced by Funke Akindele, funny at all.

funke-akindele-jenifa-diary

He wrote

“My sisters would always tell me to see Funke Akindele’s Jennifer’s Diary, that it’s the best thing that has happened after ewa agoyin. ‎And so, I tried seeing a few episodes tonight and really, it’s just a failed attempt at comedy, yes, for me. But, people whom were with me laughed, laughed and got so entertained by the drama.
Biko, am I the only one who thinks Funke Akindele is one overrated comedian?”

Of course, some fans of Funke Akindele reacted and he had to post this other message, moments ago.

“Yesterday, I put up a soft criticism of Funke Akindele’s Jenifa’s Diary, dismissing the work as a failed attempt at comedy, and the post attracted more insults ‎than it could handle.

I didn’t say I hate Funke. I didn’t say Funke is not an inspiration in the industry. I only expressed an opinion which, if you like, could pass as a critical evaluation of the art that is Jenifa’s Diary. ‎

Instead of some persons to counter the post with logical arguments, they jumped on the post with insults and some other nonsense. ‎

One wrote, “give her constructive suggestions instead of killing her effort.”‎ Wow!

Another wrote, “the lady is making millions while haters are hating.”‎ Ehn ehn?

Another wrote, “you hypocrites will applaud the likes of Mr Beans and downgrade your own sister… go and sit at Ikoyi cemetery and watch your best comedy.” Like seriously? ‎

Another wrote, “create your own and let’s assess you on it.” Laughable! ‎

“if you think Jenifa’s Diary is a failed attempt at comedy, then I think you need help.” O boi, I have suffered! ‎

One said, “what has this post achieved? We Nigerians are our own worst enemy.” Ha!

One simply wrote, “Mr I.T.K (I too know)” Sigh.‎

He continued:

You see, some people went to school and, sadly, didn’t broaden their intellection. The post isn’t an attack on Funke’s person or works, it’s simply a critical opinion of a literary critic, and you people come here to spit nonsense?

Get some education.

Here are a few types of comedy that I have studied; Romantic Comedy, Comedy of Humours, Satirical Comedy, Comedy of Manners, Sentimental Comedy, Farce, and Black Comedy.

Seeing a few episodes of Jenifa’s Diary, I used these aforementioned ‘techniques’ to evaluate the work and it failed, for me.

Same with AY’s 30 Days in Atlanta, where I argued that AY wasn’t a suitable actor for the Akpors role– imagine a Warri-just-come who couldn’t speak the language properly. The same were used to adjudge Femi Adebayo’s Jelili which, for me, is a perfect work of comedy.
Funke Akindele is a fantastic actress but, for me, her recent work, Jenifa’s Diary, is a failed attempt at comedy. ‎
Good evening.”
