Nigerian Gay Man Bisi Alimi Blasts Bishop Oyedepo Says He Devices Sermons To Keep His Congregation In Poverty And Enrich Himself

Bisi-Alimi-Oyedepo

Bisi Alimi, has been known to bash a few religious leaders in the past including Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Prophet TB Joshua, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, and Bishop David Oyedepo.

In a tweet posted on his Twitter page this morning, the proudly gay Nigerian accused Oyedepo of deceiving the public with carefully calculated sermons that he uses as a marketing ploy to milk his congregants of their money.

Alimi says Oyedepo is practicing a stupid pastoral marketing that keeps religious people in perpetual poverty. He was reacting to a sermon Bishop Oyedepo gave on the importance of paying tithes in order to get blessings from God.

In the recorded sermon, Oyedepo can be heard telling people:

“Everybody believes that God has an open heaven order of blessings for his people. But you see, it takes your tithing to qualify for it. So if you only know the promise and don’t know the conditions, you will die frustrated. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of sin, of poverty, of death, but what does it take to get there? It takes faith in the demands. People just believe the promise but you also need to believe the demands.

“It is believing the demands that entitles you to the fulfillment of the promise. There is no provision in the scriptures without a condition attached. Even salvation, as free as it is, you need to repent before you can be saved. There is nothing provided without conditions to meet.”

It was a gory sight as the body of a 50-year-old man, identified as Chief Ekanem Edet, dangled from a rope tied to the roof of his room at Mbiabong Itam in Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

Ekanem Edet, former Secretary of the Mbiabong Village Council, popularly called Jolly Boy, waited until his wife and two sons went out before taking his life, allegedly leaving a suicide note in which he blamed his action on harsh economic condition.

According to a close family source, the deceased, in the suicide note, blamed government for inflicting unbearable pains and hardship on Nigerians.

A close associate of the deceased, Mr. Okon Effiong, told newsmen that Ekanem Edet was discovered dead by his friend, who went to visit him. He added that Edet was immediately buried after some traditional rites of passage were performed.

He said: “He was a very sociable man and always shared his thoughts on issues. I do not know why he should consider suicide as the last option to escape from these hard times.”

A few days to his death, the deceased complained bitterly about the current economic crunch.

According to a family source, “Edet took his life, blaming his action on the prevailing hardship.”

The source added that the deceased, who deals on Ogogoro, cigarettes and other stimulants, decided to take his life when it appeared that he could no longer run his small family with the meagre earnings from his trade.

A pastor at the local church recalled: “He used to complain that his petty business was no longer fetching him and his family basic needs such as food, clothing and fees for the children’s education. He was always blaming government for the economic policies that do not allow him afford basic commodities such as gari, bread, yam, rice, beans, oil, kerosene and other essential goods.”

According to him, the family was reluctant to call in the police because of the suicide note, Vanguard reports.

“The Nigeria Police is one of the very best that we have anywhere in the world and I say so because I have worked with law enforcement agents for many years.

I have served in the United Nations special operations in the justice sector like the UN Mission in Somalia for about a year and I saw Police Forces from everywhere across the world.

The Nigeria Police was there too and everybody admitted that they were possibly the most effective on ground there in Somalia. They were effective because they were better trained, better educated than every other Police Force that was there, besides, they were well equipped by the UN,” he said

Star actress Funke Akindele, 39, and music producer and singer Abdul Rasheed Bello, also 39, kept their Wednesday, August 24, 2016, wedding (staged in London, the United Kingdom) very private and secret to give the union a big chance of survival.

“The couple (better known as Jenifa and Skillz) kept their families dully informed about their relationship. They have practically done the introduction ceremony, and what happened yesterday in London was a formalization of the union”, a source close to them told us. “It is untrue that they kept their families out of the ceremony yesterday. Funke’s parents and her siblings were aware. Skillz children and some family members also attended the event.”

One insider disclosed to Encomium.ng, “lf you have been the subject of gossip, experienced a loud separation from your marriage and faced the backlash from all sorts of people, you will understand why they decided to go to London. Don’t forget that Skillz was based in London, he only relocated to Nigeria a few years ago. His family is there, his home is there.”

Another source volunteered, “There is no way they would have succeeded as much with a quieter wedding in Lagos. One way or another, the secret would have been leaked.

“Based on their circumstances and experiences , what they did yesterday was the best. Many people thought Funke and ABDUL went for a short holiday in London. That at best , her 39th birthday would be staged there. And they were pleasantly surprised when the news of a wedding took wings.”

At the ceremony yesterday , none of Funke Akindele’s siblings (Olubunmi, Papa and Mama) and her parents attended. But one of Bello’s children was visibly active.

Ikorodu, Lagos born Olufunke Ayotunde Akindele is the second of four children. Her mother is a doctor and father retired school principal.
