Shocker! More Than Half Of Nigeria’s Under-17 Golden Eaglets Squad Fail Age Test

golden

A staggering 26 members of Nigeria’s Under-17 side failed an age test carried out ahead of an African Cup of Nations

qualifier.

A mandatory Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) screening of the squad revealed almost half were ineligible to play.

Only last year the Golden Eaglets, as they are known, won the FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile for a record fifth time.

The players who failed the tests have now left the training camp in Abuja.

They were staying there ahead of tomorrow’s Cup of Nations U17 qualifying match against neighbouring Niger, which will still go ahead.

Many of the expected starting eleven passed the test.

Accusations of age cheating have blighted Nigeria’s success at international age group tournaments in recent years.

Former Nigerian FA president Anthony Kojo Williams told the BBC: “We use over-age players for junior championships, I know that.

“Why not say it? It’s the truth. We always cheat. It’s a fact.

“When you cheat, you deprive the young stars that are supposed to play in these competitions their rights.”

In 2013 Nigeria were left without key players for their Fifa Under-17 World Cup after failing the same tests.

Controversially, USA-based Abuchi Obinwa was one of those to fail the test despite having all the relevant documentation to prove his age.

Football’s world governing body Fifa introduced MRI scans to check the ages of players at the 2009 Under-17 World Cup, which took place in Nigeria.

MRI is used to scan the wrist plate of players to accurately check their true age, with only players between grade one and five of the scan eligible to participate.

If Boko Haram Kills Christian, Burn Churches, We’ll Slay Muslims, Raze Mosques – Niger Delta Militant

The Niger Delta Revolutionary Crusaders, NDRC, Saturday, vowed that it would carry out reprisal attacks on Muslims and mosques in the Niger Delta region if Boko Haram kills Christians and burn down churches in the north, as threatened by its new leader, Abu Masab el Barnaw, last Wednesday.

Spokesperson of the militant group, W O I Izon-Ebi, in a statement, said: “We want to alert Nigerians and the world that the Islamization plot has been proven by the Boko Haram new leader Abu Masab el Barnaw that their new mission is to kill all Christians and burn down all churches.”

“But, we want to warn them that we, the Niger Delta youths, in this 21st century will not accept killing of innocent Christians or burning of churches. That if they try it in the north or any part of Nigeria, we the Niger Delta youths will not see any Muslim or mosque in the Niger Delta,” it said.

Its words: “We are not against President Buhari granting the Boko Haram amnesty if their sole purpose is to own an Islamic caliphate in the north, but they should mot shift it to the Niger Delta.”

“All we know and want is resource control and true federalism, if truly they believe in one Nigeria, and are working harder to build a prosperous One Nigeria, let them shift their Operation Crocodile Tears to the Fulani herdsmen and the Boko Haram that is threatening the unity and peace of Nigeria,” the group asserted.

NDRC called on President Muhammadu Buhari to demonstrate that leadership as the current leader and the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, just as former President Goodluck Jonathan showed by visiting him (Buhari) to indicate that he believes in the unity of Nigeria and was not part of the planned declaration of the Niger Delta Republic.

This Is Just so Heartbreaking A Facebook user named Pregee Binaibi, who shared the photos, wrote:

“Can u imaging! On my way back from my sister’s place, i passed by the market. It was raining seriously,so much that i was seriously feeling feverish. It was 15minuits past seven and i was rushing home. On my way a man stopped the taxi i was in and begged the driver to help take a little girl who has been under the rain selling groundnuts. She was severing seriously and couldn’t walk. She almost fainted so the people around had to put her in a taxi cos she was walking home under the very heavy rain. Fortunately she was going my way so i offered to drop her at the junction were she lives. Getting there, it was still raining cats and dogs so i took her under a shelf away from the rain. I was curious to know why a parent will expose their child to such.

“I asked her some questions and she said she was 5years, left the house for the market in the morning to sell. I asked her what she ate and she said she drank just garri in the morning. Where is your mum i asked, and she said her mum was home doing nothing. How can parents be so irresponsible? This is child abuse. Exposing this little girl to such. I got her something to eat,and then took her home. Only to discover that she was actually staying with her father’s wife. ‪#‎live‬ happening here in yenagoa this evening.# ‪#‎may‬ God help our little children!”

‘Women, Marry A Man Who Can Cook! Slavery Is Not Love’ – Charlyboy Reacts To Adeboye’s Marriage Advice Saga

Must you Marry?

For the past few days, pastor Adeboye’s advice to youths on marriage have been trending all over the place. I suspect that the good pastors yarns tells me that he is a man suspended in time, between old and new school. Don’t get it twisted, in as much as I flow with his definition of a good woman, from his statement I see that the obvious way to his heart is through his stomach and of cause through prayers. Good, No wahala.

However our amiable pastor rubs it in when he starts to yarn Akpata, ” Marry a warrior, if a girl cannot pray for one hour, don’t marry her. Don’t marry a girl who is lazy, who cannot cook. She needs to know how to do chores and cook because you cannot afford to eat out at all times” Hummm na wa! Really? Seriously?

So if my wife to be can’t rant, chant, shout and generally carry on as a prayer warrior, praying for a whole hour, the woman doesn’t deserve a wife status. Abi?

Oga pastor, that one na missyarn. Over praying does not make one a better husband or wife, because the world especially Naija is filled with Fake people and “Fakest” pastors. Does a man having a job guarantee that he will make a good husband? Does a woman knowing how to cook guarantee she will make a good wife? Haba.

Ok I get it, The Nigerian god has an ear infection, so we must shout and pray for hours because that’s the only way he may listen to our prayers, right? I know that a man is suppose to marry a helper and not a cook or a house girl. By the way, is anything wrong with encouraging your young male congregation to learn how to cook and do chores too.

“Do not marry a worldly lady” what the heck does that mean? Is it about being materialistic or just being fashionable, looking nice. I guess in your book we can’t be a good Christian if we got swagg and we are trendy. Judge not pastor. We must all not look like Deeper Life people to have a personal relationship with God. By the way, if you want to start writing your own commandment you may as well write your own version of the bible for your congregation. Na una way.

Being married should never define a man or a woman. Marriage in a few years anyways, will be out of fashion. Being married is only nice if we are lucky to pick a partner who will be our friend, if not, that maybe hell on earth. All of us must not get married if our threshold for nonsense and garbage is low. The world is obviously changing and we are no longer in the 60s. Who wants to be suffering and smiling. Most importantly marriage should not be a milestone for anyone. Yes o.

Like I always say, it will take two to tango. Marriage only works when partners are determined to make it work. It can never be a merit badge, or a status for happiness. Many of us are enslaved in our myopic mindset that makes a mess out of what should really be a good friendship. So Oga pastor Adeboye, watch your yarns because a lot of people lookup to you, Biko. I don talk my own.

Must See Photos: Man Abandoned By Wife For Being Poor Wins ₦63Million Jackpot

Kenyan-millionaire-300x185@2xAt 62 years and with nothing much except his children to show for it, everyone – including his wife –

had given up on Joseph Onywera. Except himself.

His wife who had left him due to their life of penury has now made a U-turn when she found out the same man won a N63m jackpot.

The man, Joseph Onywera, 62, a farmer from Kenya won the staggering sum early June from Betway Company after he correctly predicted the outcome of 13 football matches in the English Premier League, The Nation reports.

The woman had told him she’d never come back and had run off with another man because he was broke, but in no time she came back begging.

Mr Onywera believed in his spirit so much that he placed the bet with Betway gaming company with his last 100 Kenyan shillings (N300). Lady Luck finally smiled at the man as he hit the jackpot. He’s the traditional embodiment of the rags to riches tale!

Onywera won 20 million shillings which roughly translates to N63m.

Before he placed his bet, Mr Onywera’s mind was in turmoil. He said he could hear discouraging voices screaming in his head. He ignored them and gambled away his last Ksh100.

The man said on his wife’s return, “I saw her come into my compound and I wondered. She had told me to my face that she would only return after I die. So I told her to go away since I am still alive.”

Onywera who is an Arsenal fan said he was certain she only came back because of the money, “Ever since she left, several incidents have happened that would attract her attention. My mother died but she did not turn up for her burial. My father also died and I had an accident, but she did not bother to check on us,” he said

He did say that there was a lady who stuck with him through the trying times and he wanted to marry her. “I am a humble rice and tomato farmer. A certain woman who respected and loved me when all I had was farming will be the one to live with me in this permanent house,” he said.
