Bayelsa Polls: We’ll Meet In The Battlefield, Dokubo-Asari Brags To APC

Dokubo-Asari

Leader of Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, Alhaji Mujahideen Dokubo-Asari, has vowed that the Ijaw nation will not allow Governor Henry Seriake Dickson and former President Goodluck Jonathan to be disgraced by losing the December 5 gubernatorial election to the main opposition party in the state, All

Progressives Congress, APC.

Dokubo spoke on Tuesday when Governor Dickson formally declared his intention to seek re-election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“We Ijaws don’t run away from our enemies. Jonathan did a lot for all those who have turned against us. Nobody, wherever he is, can move the Ijaw nation. We’ve never been conquered, the British knows this fact. This fight is beyond Henry Seriake Dickson, it is beyond you and me, it is for all. He will never be disgraced on December 5. They have boasted that they have control of the Army, INEC, Police, Navy and SSS. But we will meet in the battlefield on election day.”

While speaking at the occasion, Governor Dickson vowed that his government will wind up the APC on December 5 when the election would take place.

In his declaration held in Yenagoa, at the popular Samson Siasia Stadium, the governor said even though the opposition is relying on federal might, security agencies and and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to assist them to rig election,”Bayelsa has no room for APC.”

The governor’s declaration was attended by senior citizens including ex-president, Goodluck Jonathan; former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan; former governor of Bayelsa State and Governor-General of Ijaw land, Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha and 12 PDP governors led by chairman of PDP Governors Forum and Ondo State governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.

Tenant Simply Identified As Abdullahi Murders 85 Year Old Landlady Over N9,000 Debt Disagreement

Olasupo’s-apartment

A tenant, identified simply as Abdullahi, has been arrested for allegedly killing his landlady, Raliat Olasupo, in the Ibafo area of the state.

According to Punch,  Abdullahi slaughtered the 85-year-old landlady with a knife during an altercation over N9,000, said to be an amount the landlady was supposed to pay Abdullahi for a service rendered.
Our correspondent learnt that the service was the roofing of one of the rooms in the house, which Abdullahi reportedly coordinated and demanded N9,000 from the landlady.
It was gathered that Olasupo, popularly called Iya Ibadan, had accused Abdullahi of being a trouble maker, and had got the police to arrest the tenant and eject him from the house.
However, on Friday, Abdullahi allegedly sneaked into her landlady’s room at about 8pm, and slaughtered her with a knife. It was learnt that other tenants and neighbours later found the woman in a pool of blood.
A tenant, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Abdullahi, who had been with the landlady for about four years, cut the woman’s neck with a knife and staggered out, behaving like a drunken man.
He said,
“On Friday, we were sleeping when there was an alarm at about 10pm. All of us rushed into the landlady’s room, and found her in a pool of blood. There were knife cuts on her neck and other parts of her body. Abdullahi was still around the area.
“Abdullahi used to be a good friend of the landlady, but they fell out about two weeks ago. There was an issue bordering on the roofing of one of the rooms in the house, and Abdullahi was the one who coordinated the people who worked there.
“I think the work was not properly done, and the man demanded N9,000 from the landlady as payment for the work. So, they had a disagreement.
“Some days ago, the landlady brought policemen from Ibafo to warn Abdullahi, and to ask him to leave the house. His property was thrown out, and the landlady warned him not to return to the house.”
The tenant added that they were shocked when Abdullahi, who had threatened to deal with the landlady, then showed up on Friday to attack the woman in her room.
A resident in the area, identified as Akinlade, said Abdullahi had planned to disguise out of the area, and escape police arrest.
He said, “On that day, after returning from the landlady’s room and feigning that he was drunk, he slipped into another tenant’s room and changed clothes. He was about escaping when the other tenants caught him.
Olasupo’s grandson, Olaide, told our correspondent that the landlady was taken to her hometown in Ibadan for burial, adding that the Hausa community in Ibafo had also met with the family on the incident.
He said, “Mama has been buried already, and we do not want to interfere with the police investigations. The man has been arrested, and he is in Ibafo Police Division. The Seriki of the Hausa community in Ibafo has met with us.
“Abdullahi, apart from the recent clash, had also at a time sold some of mama’s livestock, and failed to remit the money. When she asked him to leave the house , he threatened that he would kill the landlady, but we all thought it was a joke.”

Pastor Ra.pes 16 Year Old Girl During 3-Day Deliverance Prayers

rape-victim
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a pastor, Abraham Sunday, for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl, Kike (pseudonym) in\

Adalemo Estate, in the Toll Gate area, on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
PUNCH Metro learnt that Sunday, the pastor of Christ In All Nations Church in Adalemo, was arrested by the Ojokoro Police Division last Wednesday, September 2, from where he was taken to the Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba.
It was gathered that Kike, who was ill, had been taken by the pastor to a house in Adalemo Estate on August 28 for deliverance prayer when the incident occured.
It was learnt that the victim’s mother, who said Sunday was a family friend, became apprehensive after she did not hear from her daughter.

The matter was said to have been reported to the police by the landlord of the house where Sunday allegedly camped the teenager to rape her.

A police source told our correspondent that after Kike was rescued, she was taken to a hospital, where a medical test confirmed that she had been raped. The pastor was thereafter arrested.
He said,
“The pastor was like a foster father to the girl. She was ill and had gone to a hospital in the area. While returning from the hospital, she boarded the same bus with the pastor, who said he would take her to a place for prayers.
“Since the suspect was a family friend, she did not doubt him. So, they went to the pastor’s apartment, where he camped and raped her for three days. The victim’s mother did not even know about the deliverance prayer.
“On Monday, the landlord and some neighbours got suspicious of the pastor’s arrangement with the teenager and they alerted a non-governmental organisation in the area, which in turn invited the police. The girl was rescued and rushed to a hospital, where a medical test confirmed rape. The suspect was arrested immediately.”
Kike and her mother were thereafter referred to the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team and the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
The DSVRT Coordinator, Lola Viviour-Adeniyi, said,
“It was an NGO, Rubies Ink, that brought the matter to our attention. The girl was taken away for prayer. She was in the pastor’s house at the Adalemo area for three days, and during that period, he raped her.The DSVRT reached out to the victim’s mother, but she maintained that she would not pursue any case. While admitting that the pastor defiled her daughter, the mother said the pastor had a three-month-old baby, and she did not want him to be jailed.
