Photo: 3-month-old Baby Left Blind After Family Friend Took Photo with Camera Flash On
Parents and intending parents in the house, please take note of this. this lil angel pictured above was left blind in one eye after a family friend forgot to turn off his camera flash while taking a close-up photograph. Doctors said the three-month-old, who has not been named, has suffered irreparable damage from the flash of the camera, which was held about 10 inches away from the baby boy.
The parents noticed that there was something wrong with their baby’s vision soon after the photograph was taken, reported the People’s Daily Online. Following the incident, the baby suffered from reduced vision in his left eye and blindness in his right eye.
The damage is said to be permanent and cannot be fixed with surgery, DailyMailUK adds. The strong flash has damaged cells on the macula, which is the part of the eye where incoming light rays are focused. Damage to the macula can lead to the loss of central vision, which allows people to see straight ahead.
The macula is not fully developed until children are four, meaning youngsters are very sensitive to strong light.Experts have said that while babies will shut their eyes when exposed to light on reflex, just milliseconds of strong light can cause permanent damage.
They added that parents should be careful of strong bathroom lights when their babies are taking a bath. It is not clear whether the family friend will face any legal action following the incident. What would you do if you were this baby’s mum or dad?

48-year-old South African Pastor Zander Emenogo has been preaching the word of God on the streets for 10 years until the day street thugs waylaid and assaulted him.
Daily Sun reports that the pastor of The Evangelical Christian Assembly of South Africa spent Saturday preaching about drugs, crime and violence, and against Islam in the streets and parks of Joburg. Out of nowhere, two young men stopped him (One Alleged to be a muslim) and told him that he had a big mouth.
The Nigerian-born pastor, a father of two, who has remained undaunted in spite of his experience, now lives in Berea. He said he has to pass on the message whether it offended someone or not.

“I go where the Lord leads me. On Saturday I was standing on the corner of Delvers and Claim streets in the CBD.”
“While I was preaching, there were rough guys looking at me. I was scared but I had no choice. I passed on the word of God”.
“I didn’t know I was pushing the wrong buttons as I preached. I only realised that when I was done and preparing to go home.”
“Before I could respond I felt a heavy blow on my head and I fell down. I only woke up four hours later in a hospital bed,” he said.
“When I went back to preach on Monday on other streets I was threatened.”
“A man told me what the guys did on Saturday was nothing compared to what was to come if I didn’t stop what I’m doing. I preach what the Lord tells me.”
“No arrests have been made and the police are investigating,” he concluded.

Nigerian Man Beats His Mother To Death With A Chair In The US
A Nigerian man living in the United States has been charged with murder after his mother was found dead at her Regency Park apartment in Texas USA.
Dr Hauwa Esther Kadima, 61, was found dead on July 28 after officers received a call from her son Daniel Basor Kadima, 31, alerting them of a person believed to be dead at her apartment
Daniel called 911 about 9 a.m. July 28 and told dispatchers he was calling to report a death, according to the warrant, which was released Monday. When asked when he had last seen the deceased, he responded “yesterday,” police said. Kadima identified himself but did not say the
victim’s name or the nature of their relationship.
According to the warrant, when he was asked what had happened, Kadima responded, “My duty is just to call in and let you know.”
Officers say they arrived and found Hauwa Kadima lying on the floor next to a broken wooden chair. Initial autopsy findings showed she had fractures to her skull, with laceration of the brain because of blunt impact to the head. Daniel had beaten her to death with the chair.
Kadima is being held in the Gregg County Jail. His total bond is set at $100,005,500.
In a sworn affidavit filed in the Gregg County District Clerk’s Office, Daniel’s ex-wife recounted past assaults and abuse from him, including four years ago when he allegedly head-butted her, breaking one of her teeth and busting her lip. She said he also would take her keys and lock her outside their apartment, but also restrain her when she wanted to leave their home. He also had video cameras installed in their marital home, video recording their daughter.
“He eventually had a mental breakdown and was arrested multiple times,” the ex-wfe said in the affidavit. “He was committed to a mental health facility.”
Mrs Hauwa’s friends described her as a devout Christian, and well-educated with degrees from Wheaton College. They say she had a vision for her native Nigeria.
“She had a passion for wanting to start a school back in her hometown. She didn’t go back to fulfill her dream,” Rev. Mary Collier says.
