How Boko Haram Leader Fled Home With Wife During Army Raid In Kaduna

SHEK1

Security operatives in Kaduna on Wednesday night raided a suspected hideout of a Boko Haram leader, who was said to be on the run from Maiduguri, Borno State.

Our correspondent gathered that a combined team of the Nigerian Army, Department of State Service and the men of the Nigeria Police Force spent long hours raiding the building housing the suspected Boko Haram leader at the 4, Fulani Road in the Ugwan Dosa area of Kaduna State.

According to Punch, It was gathered that the suspected Boko Haram leader was said to have escaped with his wife through a make-shift escape route, covered with thick painted cartons, which looked like the fence of the house.

The building was said to have been leased out to the suspect, one Mallam Muhammed Mai Borno, who was said to have moved into the premises with his wife last year.

Already, the owner of the property had been whisked away by security agencies for further interrogation.

Meanwhile, a resident of the area, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told our correspondent that the suspect(Muhammad Mai Borno) actually moved into the house last year with the wife.

He said the suspected Boko Haram chief remained silent about his children upon enquiries.

“When we asked after his children, he said they are in school somewhere in the North-East and we discovered that he is always travelling and we never suspected any foul play until we started hearing gun shots in the night,” the source said.

Usman Ahmed, another resident, said security operatives arrived the area around 12 midnight and within a few minutes, the area was cordoned off, followed by sporadic gun shots.

He said, “I was woken up by the gun shots. Initially, I thought it was a robbery and I called the leader of the vigilance group in the area, who assured me that there is no cause for alarm.

“When the gun shots persisted, I tried to call some of my neighbours that I can remember their phone numbers. It was then that one of them told me that from his window, he sighted security men and he believed the gun shots are from them. I became comfortable and told my family to go back to bed assuring them that all was well.”

Chris Brown denies having a new girlfriend, claims the girl was trying to 'use' him

A few websites today claimed Chris Brown was now dating model Candace Brook after one of his friends posted a pic of him and the girl on twitter and instagram suggesting there was something going on between them...but Chris took to twitter this afternoon to deny it. He wrote;

"I don’t have a new girl and don’t plan on it anytime soon. #rumorkiller,” he tweeted. And then added, “Some people try to ride the wave and take suggestive pictures misleading others. Knowing damn well they came wit da homies and not me!”

He has since taking down the tweet. Meanwhile, a baby bottle was seen on Chris' tour bus as the singer is said to be spending a lot of time with his daughter, Royalty. See that after the cut...

TF? Fr Mbaka still insisting GEJ is after his life. Releases statement

Controversial Enugu-based Reverend father, Fr Mbaka is still insisting that the president and his wife want him dead. He's now accusing Enugu police of not taking the threat seriously and claiming that some men packed in a Hilux bus came to look for him recently at his Paris bu didn't find him. Below is a statement he released via his Media Officer, Ike Maximus Ugwuoke..

"It is with a deep sense of concern that we are constrained to make this statement on the continued threat to the life of Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka over his 2015 New Year message titled “From Good Luck to Bad Luck. The Enugu State Police Command has refuted claims by Fr. Mbaka that his life is in danger. It dismissed Fr. Mbaka’s outcry over threat to his life as baseless.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Ebere Amarizu , DSP, was quoted as saying, “We do not have any report by Fr. Mbaka over threat to his life. We have not received any complaint from him”.

On the backdrop of the above, one begins to wonder whether the alarm raised by Fr. Mbaka on an alleged plot to kill him was a mere rhetoric as the police had made it to appear merely because there has not been an official report to the police over it.

Absence of a formal report on threat to one’s life doesn’t negate the reality of such threat more so when the victim had made a public outcry on this issue.

To argue otherwise is akin to denying the fact of death in the face of a man’s corpse merely because there is no certificate certifying his death…

Yesterday (Wednesday) strange hoodlums in a black Hilux besieged his parish compound but they left disappointed when they could not see him.

"Wherever and whoever this threat is coming from, we state that there are strong and compelling circumstances pointing towards the fact that Fr. Mbaka’s latest attacks were stemming from his said 2015 New Year message, which was not favourable to the President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration.”
