Seun Kuti denies saying people shouldn't vote for Buhari, calls out reporter

Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti took to his facebook page this morning to deny saying in an interview with Tribune that he won't vote for Gen Buhari because he jailed his father 31 years ago. Seun even called out the reporter he had the interview with. Continue to see what Seun allegedly said..

From Sunday Tribune January 11th, Seun Kuti was quoted as saying...

“I will only urge Nigerians, especially her youths, to come out enmasse to elect the ruler of their choice so that Nigeria’s democracy will continue to grow. As for me though, I will never vote for Buhari because of what he did to my father. It is a personal grouse. Buhari denied me the chance of seeing my father in the early stage of my life. He arrested and detained Fela in Kirikiri for the same number of years I was growing up without a father, and even did not allow his family members to see him on a daily basis. He eventually jailed my father and I will always remember that. He jailed my innocent father on currency trafficking, but he is claiming to be a saint now. Truth is that I have no reason to give my vote to any of the two contestants, but more especially Buhari because of the eternal emotional damage he caused the Kuti family, especially me"

Oh my! Tiwa Savage is the truth in Blanck magazine's new issue

The singer oozes sexy appeal in a shoot for digital fashion and lifestyle magazine, Blanck. Continue...

In an interview with the editor Tiwa Savage Balogun talks about returning home, her massive successes and controversies as well as her thoughts on feminism and over sexualisation of music videos.

Let’s talk about nudity and over sexualisation of music videos. Would you say that this is a selling point for your brand?

Definitely not! There are a lot of sexy women in the industry and I’m still selling. So if it was just sexiness that sells my music, people would have forgotten about me by now. But first and foremost, the music is important, everything else is a part of a package and I think that people generally know that music is in me and is my first love. I studied music, so I always concentrate more on it. If the music is right then everything is packaging. They are the things we use in drawing attention to the brand. For me, I think my brand has a heathy balance. All my videos tell different stories about the individual behind the music.

Are you a feminist?

No! I don’t think I am. (Laughs). Ok, may be a passive feminist. With regards to baring one’s body on stage, I don’t think it’s proper to attack the ladies for doing this, while you give nods to their male counterparts for doing the exact same thing. I think people need to learn how to separate the job from who the artist really is. What you do on stage is a job and not necessarily who you are. There’s a time for everything. God created sex and we are supposed to be sexy as well as we are wholesome; smart, intelligent etc. There are times when I know I’m supposed to appear on stage in a classy and simple but cute dress but there are other times where I’m expected to take some fashion risks depending on the kind of crowd I am performing to.

I am now free to have sex - Vast of Bracket says

After being treated of Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer, Nwanchukwu Ozioko known as Vast from the popular singing group, Bracket, says he is free to start having sex again. He said doctors warned him to abstain from sex during the treatment process but have since given him the go-ahead to enjoy..

"I have gone for sperm check. I am okay. The essence of not having sex was to ensure that I don't give birth to an abnormal baby. Because if I impregnate a lady in that condition, she might give birth to such a baby and of course I don't want that to happen. That was why I was instructed to stay away from sex for five months. I am ready to resume. Interestingly, They know I'm a man capable of getting married when it's time. Before they started the treatment, they took sperm from me for safe keeping in case the treatment damages my sperm. I will still be able to have children but nothing bad happened. It didn't affect anything. I am free to have sex and impregnate my lady when the time comes. Apart from being alive, that is also a good news" he told Encomium mag
