‘Broke’ Solange returned wedding gifts for $1,000 cash?
You would think because she’s Beyonce’s sister, she would not have major money problems, plus she’s a successful singer in her own rights so when you read stories like this, you really wonder. There were reports last month that Solange was owing the IRS $50,000 in back taxes, now they are claiming she’s in serious need of cash that she’s selling wedding gifts for cash. Hopefully, not true!
According to Naughty Gossip, Solange – who has just been served with a massive unpaid tax bill – has been caught red-handed exchanging expenses flower vases for cash. Naughty Gossip’s source explains, “Solange Knowles is a tacky, cheap swindler! 3 days after her wedding she returned over $1000 worth of flower vases she bought for the wedding to a popular nationwide design and furniture store. She also returned gifts. Gag!”
To be fair to Solange, what would she have done with $1000 worth of flower vases? Might as well return it and get some cash in return, right? Especially since from all accounts, money’s been a little tight lately. Beyonce conspiracy theory? Revenge for screwing up her sister’s perfect image with her elevator beatdown?
We can continue with the conspiracy theories until the cows come home, but the simpler explanation is that Solange is cheap and/or that she’s desperate for cash – or both. Elections may not hold in troubled North east states – Jega
Chairman of INEC, Attahiru Jega says it may be difficult for them to conduct elections in three north-east states – Borno, Yobe and Adamawa next month. The states have been under Emergency rule for a while now
“A place like Borno state, unless something is done about those that have been displaced, even the time of the governorship election may be very very difficult, if not impossible under the circumstances. We are been realistic. We must say that it may be impossible to do elections everywhere and in every local government in every constituency in those three states” he said at a forum in Abuja today.
On the possibility of internally displaced people casting their votes during the elections, Prof Jega said
“First and foremost, we know that there are many Internally displaced persons in Nigeria on many causes but our focus is going to be on the North east zone and it will only be for internally displaced persons that are in that states” he said

Woman, 57, dies in 60-yr-old lover’s apartment
LAGOS—Controversy has continued to trail the death of a 57-year- old woman, identified as Bonu Fiaret, in Salu area of Badagry, an outskirt of Lagos State, who allegedly died in her lover’s apartment under questionable circumstances on January 2.
According to reports, the deceased, who worked at Badagry General Hospital as a nurse before she retired, was having an affair with one Akodogbo.
Vanguard gathered that the lovers, who parted ways several months back because of the victim’s health condition, rekindled their affair when they met at a community carnival.
After spending time with each other, the duo reportedly went to Akodogbo’s one-room apartment, where Bonu slept off. However, trouble, as gathered, started after Akodogbo woke up and discovered the lifeless body of his lover.
Vanguard learned that the case, which was initially reported at the Badagry Divisional Police is currently being investigated at the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Yaba, Lagos.
When Vanguard visited the resident of the suspect in Badagry, a close family source said family members of the deceased were currently pointing accusing fingers at Akodogbo.
Lover’s account
According to 60-year-old Akodogbo, a father of one, “we have been lovers for more than two years, but we had to end the relationship because of her health condition. She is hypertensive.
“But we met during the carnival in Badagry and we discussed. We spent time together and had a lot of fun together at the carnival.
“Like school children, the old flame was rekindled and we decided to continue the affair. She agreed to spend the night at my place.
“By the time I woke up in the morning, I tried to wake her up, but she did not move; her body had already become lifeless and stiff. I was alarmed and alerted my neighbours.
“They said this was beyond them and that the police needs to be involved. That was how the police was contracted. I did not kill her.”
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Nwosu, said investigation into the case was still ongoing.
