Catholic Archbishop of Jos queries America's help in fight against Boko Hara

The Catholic Archbishop of Jos, Ignatius Kaigama has queried the quality of help America is said to be giving to Nigeria towards the fight against Boko Haram. In an interview with BBC Africa, Bishop Kaigama wondered why Boko Haram attacks is still on the increase despite the reported help America is offering Nigeria

"The question is if the US has been providing help, intelligence and assisting in one way or the other, why the growing destruction? Why is the activities of Boko Haram becoming so sophisticated? So I wonder the quality of help. How effective is that help? How can it bring this situation to a halt? We (Nigeria) certainly need help to overcome this terrorist group because they seem to be expanding and growing more sophisticated in their approach and they are claiming lives and displacing so many Nigerians."

He called on the international community to show genuine concern to issues of terrorism on other parts of the world and not just Europe..

"Let us act together. It is important to feel concern when one part of the world is in trouble. Whether it is in the middle east, Whether is in the sub saharan africa. whether it is in Europe or America. I think we should be genuinely concerned for one another and do what we can like I see the very positive response of the french government in tackling the issue of religious violence after the killings of their citizens. There have been very very positive and putting in all they can in order to ensure this does not happen again. We need that spirit to be spread around. Not just when it happens in Europe but when it happens in Nigeria, in Niger, in Cameroon, in any poor country, that we mobilize our international resources and confront the people who bring such sadness to many families"he said

Mariah Carey’s sister begs her for forgiveness in open letter

1

Back in 2000, Mariah Carey’s older sister, Alison, a mother of 4 sold an unflattering story about the singer and their family to the National Enquirer and also tried to write a tell-all book about Mariah.

Now Alison, who back then said she became a drug addicted HIV positive prostitute because she was low on cash, is begging Mariah to let bygones be bygones and let her back into her life. She wrote her famous sibling, who has since cut her off, an open letter via Star magazine. See that after the cut…

In an open letter published by Star Magazine Alison pleads,

It’s hard not having you in my life. You’re irreplaceable. Not because you’re Mariah Carey, but because you’re my baby sister, the only one I’ll even have.

Yes, I could use your help, but outside of making a better life for my children, I’m not in this for what I can get. And I would be one of the few people that you could count on to tell you the truth, which is what I’ve always done for you. You need someone you could trust.

Of course I love you. I’ve always loved you. I just wish that we could let the past be the past and start over from here. I’ve done things that are wrong, but let me show you who I am today – who I can be for you, Mariah, as a sister.

Love, Dandelion.

Gunmen storm APC chairman, Odigie-Oyegun's home in Abuja

Unknown gunmen today Jan. 12th broke into the home of the Chairman of the APC, John Oyegun.

According to a statement by the party, two men suspected to be assassins broke into Mr Oyegun's Abuja home around 1.3am and went straight into his bedroom to ransack it. The men met Oyegun's wife as he was not at home when they came.

“The facts of the raid as available so far point to a sinister motive. For example, only Chief Oyegun’s room was ransacked in the whole house. Common sense dictates that if the invaders were robbers, they would have ransacked the whole house in search of money and other valuables which they might have believed were in the residence. The invaders, 2 burly men, removed the window burglar bars to gain access to the residence from the back, and then made straight for the bedroom of our national chairman. Police security was in place at the residence when the incident happened.” the statement read
