Former Kenya PM Raila Odinga's son, Fidel Odinga found dead
The eldest son of former Prime Minister of Kenya, Raila Odinga, Fidel Odinga, was found dead at his home in Windy Ridge in Nairobi, Kenya in the early hours of this morning Sunday January 4th. The 41 year old's lifeless body was found on his bed by his wife hours after he returned from an outing with friends and a day after he met his father for lunch. Police say it is not yet clear what caused his death. But foul play is not suspected as yet. Fidel (pictured right - mourners pictured left at the morgue today ) was not visibly sick before his passing.
His body was immediately taken to the morgue where an autopsy is expected to be carried out. His death is the number one trending topic in Kenya at the moment. May his soul rest in peace...amen.
Arrest of suspected armed robbers/cultists

The Rivers State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that in its increased onslaughts on criminals to usher in year 2015, has on a tip-off raided a suspected criminals' hide out.
On 03/01/2015 at about 01:00AM a team of Policemen raided Prana Hotel along Oboburu road in Akabuka of ONELGA and arrested fifteen suspected armed robbers/cultists who were already about to go out and carry out their nefarious act.
The suspects are Vincent Odum, Odinaka Amaechi Ogbugo, Chisa Peter, Emenike Ayodele, John James, Vincent Ikeguru, Atumatu Isaac . Others are Oliver Odum, Gift Odika, Collins Georgewill, John Daniel, Uchechukwu Dimkpa, Emmanuel Solomon, Ogechi Okorobia and Obi Eze Okwu.
Item recovered from them include seven firearms made up of three Pump Action, one English-made Double barrel, one Locally-made Pistol double barrel and two Dane guns. Other items recovered are seventy nine cartridges, four objects suspected to be explosives, two cutlasses, one military camouflage trouser, a walkie talkie radio set and assorted charms.

Mother strangles her one day child to death in Ebonyi
A 25 year old woman identified as Ugochukwu Otu, (pictured above), confessed to killing her one day old baby girl at her home in Enohia Nkalu Afikpo North Local Government Area, Ebonyi State on December 22nd 2014 over her desire to be free from the burden of motherhood.
According to Sunday Sun, Ugochukwu gave birth to her daughter on December 21st and was discharged the next day. On getting to her house, Ugochukwu said she was frustrated and was pushed to killing her baby after the man who impregnated her denied the pregnancy.
“I killed my one-day old baby girl intentionally because I don’t have N500 for her medical treatment. I want to be free lady. I didn’t have any intention to get pregnant. I was impregnated by one man called Monday , a native of Ozizza Afikpo North LGA. But later he refused to accept the pregnancy and I didn’t plan for it. I am not ready to marry; I want to be a free lady. I had to strangle the baby girl and put the corpse in a black polythene bag and dumped it along Ndibe beach road, near the bush. I don’t regret killing my baby because nobody was responsible for her upkeep.” she told police. The police say she will soon be charged to court.

Members of Redeem Christian Church of God Victory house in Festac town and other branches were asked to show their Permanent Voters Cards during church service today. The Pastor in charge of the Festac province said pastor Adeboye had that every member of the church come with it as proof that they have registered and also advised those that have not done so to do so immediately so they can vote during the general elections holding in February.
